    • In a multi-channel oscilloscope a method of calibrating interleaved digitizer channels initially calibrates each digitizer channel to produce a bandwidth enhanced filter for each digitizer channel to match the respective channel frequency and phase characteristics. The oscilloscope is then configured for interleaved operation whereby an input signal is applied to at least two digitizers via a switch through a common preamplifier to produce a reference digitizer channel and an interleaved digitizer channel where the bandwidth enhanced filter for the interleaved digitizer channel is now not correct. Fast Fourier transforms are performed on the data from the reference digitizer channel and the interleaved digitizer channel, from which are derived a match filter for the interleaved digitizer channel so the interleaved digitizer channel and reference digitizer channel are matched in phase and magnitude at all frequencies.

    • The invention relates to a method for generating a digital signal representative of the pairing error between the channels of an analog digital conversion system with time interleaving, a method for suppressing the errors thus calculated and an analog digital conversion system with time interleaving using same. The present invention proposes a less complex digital solution since it does not require the extraction of the defects of the signal at the output of the converter. It makes it possible to correct the pairing errors by the direct creation of digital signals representative of these errors, and their subtraction from the digitized signal at the output of the conversion system. An object of the invention is a method for generating a digital signal representative of the pairing error between the channels of an analog digital conversion system with time interleaving (CAN 10) comprising an analog digital converter (CAN1, CAN2,...,CANN) on each channel. The said method comprises the determination of the spectrum (11-12) of said digital signal as a function of the frequency response of the analog digital conversion system with time interleaving (CAN 10) to at least one analog calibration signal (IC).

    • An apparatus suitable for use in identifying a noise component originating from a certain source of noise in a DSP-based mixed-signal system is provided. The apparatus includes a processing unit which receives a first signal released by a first signal path, the first signal path including a digital-to-analog converter and a first analog-to-digital converter. The processing unit also receives a second signal released by a second signal path, the second signal path including the digital-to-analog converter and a second analog-to-digital converter. The first signal and the second signal are processed to derive a noise component associated to a certain source of noise, the certain source of noise being a selected one of the digital-to-analog converter, the first analog-to-digital converter and the second analog-to-digital converter. A signal indicative of the noise component associated to the certain source of noise is then released.

    • An instantaneous differential non-linearity DNL can be determined with a high accuracy with a reduced volume of computation and independently from a testing frequency while allowing an evaluation of factors in a compounded fault. A sine signal is applied to an AD converter 14 under test, a conversion output of which is divided into a sine component and a cosine component, with local maxima or minima aligned with each other. A square sum of the individual samples is formed, and a square root of the square sum is formed to determine an instantaneous amplitude (21). The amplitude of the sine wave signal is interleaved into a series of instantaneous amplitudes (20), and a first stage of the wavelet transform (46) is applied to the interleaved series of instantaneous amplitudes, with its output being oversampled to perform a second stage of wavelet transform (46′). A maximum amplitude of the transform output is detected by peak detector 23′. A detected value is used to estimate the DNL.
