    • A clamp assembly for securing a battery sensor to a vehicle battery comprises a surround portion defining an aperture for at least partially surrounding a battery post for the vehicle battery and a pair of clamping arms extending from opposing ends of the surround portion. A tab extends from one of the clamp arms toward the other of the clamp arms, wherein the tab defines a first through hole. A wedge has a generally U-shaped cross-section, where a width of the base of the wedge is less than a width at distal ends of the U-shaped cross-section and the base of the wedge defines a second through hole. The wedge is fitted over the clamping arms and a fastener is threaded through the first and the second through holes. A nut is threaded on the fastener to force the wedge over the clamp arms such that the width at the base of the wedge forces the clamp arms toward one another.

    • Devices are provided for facilitating connection of at least one element to a pole of a battery. The devices include an adapter including a first portion of the adapter and a second portion of the adapter. The first portion of the adapter is configured to attach to the pole of the battery and the second portion of the adapter includes at least one protruding member. The at least one protruding member is configured to receive the at least one element and is electrically connected to the first portion of the adapter. The device further includes a protective lid configured to be received by the adapter and to provide an electrically insulating cover for the at least one protruding member.

    • An electrical arrangement for a motor vehicle includes a starter cable electrically connected with a vehicle battery, a terminal head conductor electrically connected with the starter cable, a terminal base conductor electrically connected with a starter motor, and an electrically nonconductive terminal enclosure defining a cavity in which the terminal head conductor and the terminal base conductor are positioned. The vehicle battery is electrically connected with the starter motor when the terminal head conductor contacts the terminal base conductor in the cavity. The terminal enclosure includes a weakened section offset from the terminal head conductor such that breaking of the terminal enclosure at the weakened section to form a free edge of the terminal enclosure and disconnection of the terminal head conductor from the terminal base conductor results in the terminal head conductor remaining in the cavity and spaced from the free edge.

The spring member 70 is positioned within a receptacle section 30 of the terminal body 22 that includes two parallel walls 32, 46. The terminal body 22 also includes a wire termination section for attaching the terminal 20 to a battery cable 8. Inline and right angle versions of the terminals employ similar spring members 70.

    • A lead-acid batteries having terminals designed to readily receive charging leads. The battery terminal and the charging cable lead utilize complementary configurations which interlock and provide an intimate and reliable connection between the terminal and lead. More specifically, an interlocking connection formed by a lead having two parallel legs which slide into slots formed in the wall of the side terminal has proven particularly effective. The interlocking terminal-lead connections eliminate the need of threadingly engaging and disengaging fasteners or adapters during charging that are normally necessary for side terminal batteries.
