摘要： An input device includes: a switch unit that has a fixed contact and a movable contact placed so as to be movable away from and toward the fixed contact; a rubber member provided so as to be elastically deformable, the rubber member pressing the movable contact; and a slide member placed so as to be movable so that the slide member can press the rubber member. The rubber member has a first load generating part, which presses the movable contact, and a plurality of load adjusting parts disposed so as to enclose the first load generating part. The slide member has a first pressing part, which presses the first load generating part, and a plurality of second pressing parts, which press the plurality of load adjusting parts.

The input device is of the membrane type which includes an actuator member composed of a generally flat plate having a plurality of elongated actuator sections on a surface thereof and carrying a plurality of first electrodes disposed wholly through an opposite surface thereof and facing against the plurality of the actuator sections, a substrate disposed in conjunction with the actuator member and having a plurality of second electrodes each corresponding to one of the first electrodes. The first and second electrodes are brought into electrical contact when the corresponding one of the actuator sections is depressed and becomes bent. It is sensed as to where the first and second electrodes are in electric contact along the length of the actuator sections.

摘要： An electronic keyboard includes a base defining a surface having a plurality of faces oriented at different angles. A flexible printed circuit defining rows of switches is disposed on the base surface and rows of switch actuators are disposed on the printed circuit. The actuators comprise key guide strips which define key positions offset along the rows from the switch positions and spring strips which bridge the key and switch positions so that, when keys slidably mounted in the key guide strips are depressed, they close the associated switches. The spring strips are designed to produce minimum operator fatigue and all of the keyboard components coact to give the keyboard a very low profile.

摘要： A keyboard device which includes a frame having a plurality of bores in which there is positioned a core for slideable motion therein, and a keyboard top positioned over the bores and preferably sealing each of the cores within the bores of the frame so that no particles of food or dust can accumulate between the cores and the frame while still permitting the cores to be depressed to cause a contactor means to engage contact means. In the preferred embodiment the cores are loose within the bores and are held therein from the top by said keyboard top. In addition, a mask to simulate the appearance of a frame about the portions of the top is provided. In addition, the preferred embodiment is sealed on the top and bottom to protect the in words from the environment.

摘要： Electric switches are described in which a resilient, electrically conductive, elastomeric member is spaced adjacent but apart from contact means; among features are the elastomeric connector: of sheet form; on metal contacts as a movable contact bridge; defining a simple and durable multiple switch array including a keyboard, a digital coding assembly and a detector; and as the means, especially with proper selection of distributed conductive particles in the elastomer for limited conductivity, of eliminating the electrical effects of bounce in solid state electronic logic circuitry and the like. Fabrication of the switch as a simple, thin compact laminate using printed circuit boards is shown using the preferred silicone elastomer and carbon filler. In preferred embodiments pressure against conductive elastomer sheet means will cause it to connect to a contact element conductively and release of pressure will cause the sheet means to disconnect. The sheet means can be used as a floating connection for one or more circuit elements, and in this form has particular application in a keyboard assembly, particularly in connection with replaceable printed circuit boards and in digital coding techniques with a single printed circuit board. Preferably, the sheet means resiliently, reversibly deforms from first to second conditions, typically engaging the contacts in the deformed or bulged condition. Preferably in one condition the sheet means takes a planar form, positioned by a spacer layer from the contacts. And preferably the contacts are elements of a printed circuit.

摘要： A keying mechanism is described which can be advantageously employed in a high density or highly miniaturized keyboard. The mechanism employs the principles of an elastic diaphragm switch but, instead of including a continuous elastomeric sheet, such switch comprises a discrete elastomeric plunger for each key operating position, the plungers being freely guided through an apertured guide plate. An elastomeric nomenclature sheet is provided on the guide plate to provide key indicia and to seal the mechanism against dust and dirt. A metallic grid having apertures at the key positions is provided on the nomenclature sheet and functions to prevent accidental triggering of the keyboard.

摘要： A portable terminal includes an input device and processing hardware which operates a predetermined method. The input device includes a keypad unit consisting of a plurality of key buttons, a board consisting of a plurality of pressure sensors and dome switches for generating signals when pressed, and an actuator for simultaneously pressing the corresponding dome switch and the corresponding pressure sensor when a key button is pressed, with the processing hardware for performing and finishing a first operation based on the signal generated by the corresponding dome switch if generation of the signal generated by the dome switch stops before a valid time has expired, and for performing a second operation based on a pressure change sensed by the corresponding pressure sensor simultaneously pressed until the generation of the signal generated by the corresponding dome switch remains after the valid time has expired.
