摘要： An interface of a content management system manages storage and access of content on the system. For example, after receiving, from a client, a request to download a content item, the interface determines whether the request includes a valid token. If so, the interface sends a content item request to a storage service, retrieves the content item, and sends the content item to the client. Otherwise, the interface sends an authorization request to an authorization service, an authentication request to an authentication service, and a content item request to the storage service. Based on the requests, the interface determines whether the content item is available in storage and whether the client is authorized to access the content item. When the content item is available in storage and the client is authorized to access the content item, the interface retrieves the content item and sends the content item to the client.

The corporate directory can provide access to user accounts for all members of the organization to all content items in the organization directory on the respective file systems of the members' client devices. Members can reach any content item at the same path as other members relative to the organization directory root on their respective client device. In some embodiments novel access permissions are granted to maintain path consistency.

摘要： In some embodiments, a synchronization system can synchronize symbolic links across multiple devices. For example, a content management system can receive, from a client device, one or more synchronization operations for synchronizing content items between the content management system and the client device. The content items can be content items associated with a user account registered at the content management system. The content management system can determine that the one or more synchronization operations include an operation for adding a content item to the user account, and that the content item is a symbolic link that includes a path to a target content item. The content management system can then synchronize the content item as a symbolic link.

摘要： The disclosed technology relates to a system configured to obtain a set of tree data structures including a remote tree representing a server state of content items associated with a user account on a content management system, a local tree representing a file system state of content items associated with the user account on a client device, and a sync tree representing a known sync state between the content management system and the client device. The system is configured to determine that the user account on the content management system includes at least one modification not synchronized to the client device by comparing the remote tree and the sync tree.

摘要： The Shared Internet Storage Resource provides Internet-based file storage, retrieval, access, control, and manipulation for a user. Additionally, an easy-to-use user interface is provided both for a browser or stand-alone application. The entire method provides means by which users can establish, use, and maintain files on the Internet in a manner remote from their local computers yet in a manner that is similar to the file manipulation used on their local computers. A high capacity or other storage system is attached to the Internet via an optional internal network that also serves to generate and direct metadata regarding the stored files. A web server using a CGI, Java®-based, or other interface transmits and retrieves TCP/IP packets or other Internet information through a load balancer/firewall by using XML to wrap the data packets. File instructions may be transmitted over the Internet to the Shared Resource System. The user's account may be password protected so that only the user may access his or her files. On the user's side, a stand-alone client application or JavaScript object interpreted through a browser provide two means by which the XML or other markup language data stream may be received and put to use by the user. Internet-to-Internet file transfers may be effected by directly downloading to the user's account space.
