摘要： There is provided an optical lens having an optically transparent surface coated with transducers adapted to stimulate a stimulus signal in a sample, where the optical lens is adapted to enable an optical communication between an optical source from one side of the optically transparent surface and the transducers and the sample from another side of the optically transparent surface for enabling the optical source to conduct optical operations capturing both the transducers and the sample simultaneously during a stimulation process. There is also provided a method of manufacturing the optical lens.

摘要： A micro-optic module couples a pair of substrates to opposing sides of a fast-axis collimating lens and a beam twister. The arrangement of optical elements is oriented substantially parallel to a neutral plane defined by propagation paths of the light from each emitter of an array of laser emitters. The pair of substrates may have substantially the same coefficient of thermal expansion and coefficient of thermal conductivity, and the micro-optic module may be configured to exhibit symmetry of thermal loading about the neutral plane when the array of laser emitters emits light at an operational power level. The micro-optic module may be coupled with an array of laser emitters, for example a laser diode bar. The module exhibits thermal properties that facilitate a consistently focused light beam with minimal positional drift, which may enable efficient and reliable coupling of the light beam to optical fibers and other high-tolerance applications.

摘要： A laser ignition system. The system includes a laser, a lens, and a fiber optic cable. The laser is configured to generate pulses having a length ranging from about 10 ns to about 30 ns and pulse energy ranging from about 10 mJ to about 20 mJ. A pulse train may comprise a plurality of the pulses with a repetition rate of greater than 10 kHz. The lens is configured to focus the pulses toward a combustible fluid so as to ignite a plasma. The fiber optic cable extends between the laser and the lens.

摘要： A collimator device and a collimator lens array for an optical circuit switch are provided. The collimator includes a fiber array including multiple optical fibers disposed in a hole array. An optical lens array is aligned and coupled to the fiber array. A spacer is disposed between the fiber array and the optical lens array and provides substantially uniform spacing between lenses in the optical lens array and corresponding fibers in the fiber array. Multiple pads are positioned along edges of a surface of the spacer facing the optical lens array defining a first separation gap between the spacer and the optical lens array. A first epoxy bonds the spacer to the optical lens array, and a second epoxy bonds the spacer to the fiber array. The optical lens array includes a glass substrate having a first surface defining lenses in a two-dimensional array.

摘要： Electro-optical connectors and connector systems are disclosed. In one embodiment, an electro-optical plug includes a tip connector, a ring connector, and a sleeve connector, wherein the tip connector, the ring connector, and the sleeve connector are electrically conductive. The electro-optical plug further includes a gradient-index lens co-axially disposed within at least the tip connector, wherein the tip connector has a tip window that optically exposes a coupling surface of the gradient-index lens, and an optical fiber that is co-axially disposed within at least the sleeve connector. In another embodiment, an electro-optical connector includes a plug body having a planar electrical coupling surface with an array of electrically conductive contacts, and an optical coupling surface having at least one optical window. The electro-optical connector further includes a gradient-index lens disposed within the plug body. A coupling surface of the gradient-index lens is optically exposed at the at least one optical window.
