Porphyrins and creatinine in the urine sample are quantitated, and based on the value (nmol/gCre) obtained by dividing the amount of porphyrins by the amount of creatinine, a distinction among an individual without a tumor, an individual with a benign tumor, and an individual with a malignant tumor is determined. The presence or absence of a malignant tumor in a subject can be clearly determined by administering 1 to 3 mg of ALAs in terms of ALA per kg of body weight.

    • The present invention relates to a non covalent molecular structure comprising a carbon nanostructure and a porphyrin based glycoconjugate (I) which is linked to the said carbon nanostructure by a non covalent link, the said glycoconjugate (I) having the formula (I): wherein M is a metal selected in the group comprising Fe, Ni, Zn, Cu, Mn, Cr or Co, B is a group which is present on at least one of the four phenyl group (C6H5) represented in (I), n is an integer from 1 to 3, that is to say that one to three B group(s) may be present on each phenyl group, and B is represented by a -A-C group wherein A is selected in the group comprising an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, a NH group or a (CH2)n1 group, n1 being an integer from 1 to 10, C is a group of formula (II).
