摘要： The present disclosure provides an optical integrated device and an optical time domain reflectometer. The optical integrated device includes: a packaging outer shell, a first collimator, an optical splitting device, a circulator assembly and a second collimator. The optical splitting device is provided close to the first collimator, is used to reflect a part of the detecting light from the first pigtail and couple the part of the detecting light to the third pigtail, and allows the other part of the detecting light to pass through the optical splitting device. The circulator assembly is provided close to the optical splitting device, the circulator assembly is used to couple the detecting light passing through the optical splitting device to the second pigtail, and couple the detecting light returned from the second pigtail to the third pigtail. The optical integrated device integrates the optical splitting device and the circulator assembly to be packaged in one packaging outer shell, the number of components of the optical time domain reflectometer may be reduced, the number of optical fiber fusion joints may be reduced, a space may be saved and performance may be promoted.

摘要： The present disclosure provides an optical integrated device and an optical time domain reflectometer. The optical integrated device includes: a packaging outer shell, a first collimator, an optical splitting device, a circulator assembly and a second collimator. 摘要： A system for providing advanced characterization of an optical fiber span is based upon the use of a pair of optical time domain reflectometers (OTDRs), located at opposing end terminations of the span being characterized. Each OTDR performs standard reflectometry measurements and transmits the resulting OTDR trace to monitoring equipment in a typical manner. The pair of OTDR traces is thereafter combined in a particular manner (“stitched together”) to create an OTDR trace of the entire fiber span (essentially doubling the operational range of prior art OTDR measurement capabilities). The transmit portion of one OTDR may be paired with the receive portion of the other OTDR, with time-of-light measurements (or signal loss measurements) used to determine optical path length and/or optical signal loss of the span. Using a multi-wavelength light source in the paired transmit/receive arrangement allows for a characterization of chromatic dispersion of the span.

摘要： A system (20) for fiber-optic reflectometry includes an optical source (28, 40), a beat detection module (44, 48, 52, 56A, 56B) and a processor (36). The optical source is configured to generate a non-linearly-scanning optical interrogation signal having an instantaneous optical frequency that is a non-linear function of time. The beat detection module is configured to transmit the optical interrogation signal into an optical fiber (24), to receive from the optical fiber an optical backscattering signal in response to the optical interrogation signal, and to mix the optical backscattering signal with a reference replica of the optical interrogation signal, so as to produce a beat signal. The processor is configured (i) to hold a predefined function that is indicative of an expected phase of the beat signal resulting from the non-linearly-scanning optical interrogation signal as a function of position along the optical fiber and time, (ii) to estimate a backscattering profile of the optical fiber by applying the predefined function to the beat signal, and (iii) to sense one or more events affecting the optical fiber by analyzing the backscattering profile.

摘要： A Wavelength Adaptation Module and a method therein for adapting an Optical Time Domain Reflectometry, OTDR, signal for supervision of Optical Network Terminals, ONTs, in a Passive Optical Network, PON, are provided. The wavelength of the OTDR signal is adapted to have a selected wavelength to enable a splitter in a remote node to forward the OTDR signal to a dedicated group of ONTs in the PON, thereby supervising the fiber links between the remote node and the dedicated group of ONTs. The optical time domain reflectometer of the present invention tunes the wavelength of a polymer wavelength tunable laser that outputs a constant optical signal and inspects cutting, reflection, and damage of an optical line by separating an optical signal returning from the optical line by an optical filter having a specific central wavelength. Since a optical source having a constant light intensity is used, the present invention has an effect of reducing the nonlinear effect generated in an optical line.

The system further includes an OTDR monitor that monitors multi-band optical signals on the optical fiber, selects a second power level and a second polarization state based on the monitoring of the multi-band optical signals, and determines parameters associated with the optical fiber based on the monitoring. The OTDR injects a second OTDR signal at the first optical wavelength, the selected second power level and the selected second polarization state into the optical fiber. The system operates to allow un-balanced power levels across multiple wavelength bands to be balanced due to inter-channel Raman power shift.
