摘要： Cold storage unit apparatuses designed for high energy efficiency are provided, which may include: a refrigeration system; a box enclosing an interior space, the box formed by a plurality of insulated sides; an entry into the interior space including a plurality of openable barriers facilitating preventing entry of heat or moisture into the interior space; and a power system connected to the refrigeration system, the power system facilitating independent operation of the refrigeration system when not connected to a power grid, and further facilitating a net energy use of zero from a power grid when connected to a power grid. Cold storage units may further include systems for using the refrigerant of the refrigeration system to defrost one or more components of the cold storage unit, and for using the refrigerant to facilitate maintaining a desired internal temperature of the interior space of the cold storage unit.

摘要： An insulated panel system includes a joint disposed between two insulated panels. The joint has a male portion and a female portion. The female portion has a flange, sidewalls, and a base that can be secured to an existing structure. The male portion includes a top plate with sealing sides that rest against the face of the insulated panel when inserted into the female portion. The sealing sides prevent warm air and/or moisture from ingress into a refrigerated space defined by the insulated panels. Also disclosed is a sealing joint for insulated structural panels.

The vapor barriers have a relatively high water vapor transmission rate that inhibits water vapor from permeating through the door panel. With such vapor barriers, outer sheets of the door panel can be made of polyurethane or other tough materials that might have an inadequate water vapor transmission rate. In some examples, the vapor barrier encircles or encloses a thermally insulating pad. In some examples, the door panel includes a sleeve or pocket that holds the vapor barrier in place. Some examples include means for draining water that might condense within the door panel.

摘要： An installation and method for freezing and cold storage of palletized product. A chiller is provided in the interior of a cold storage warehouse space that maintains the temperature of ambient air within the space below freezing. A plurality of racking structures each define an air flow chamber having air intake openings on opposite sides thereof and an air outlet to enable freezing air to be drawn into the chamber through the intake openings and exhausting into the warehouse space. Pallets on pallet guides are pressed against the intake openings such that freezing air is drawn through the palletized product to thereby quickly freeze the product. The pallet structure and air flow chambers are arranged in spaced-apart rows to enable a forklift to pass down the aisles so as to place and remove the palletized product.
