摘要： A grease plug adapted to fit into a cross hole in communication with a through-greasing passage and to reduce the effective cross-sectional area of the cross hole. The grease plug comprises (1) a generally cylindrical plug portion having at least one grease passage extending generally axially thereof and (2) a generally hook-shaped mounting portion which functions as a snap lock to retain the plug portion in the cross hole. In one embodiment, the mounting portion itself is long enough to bear against the inner surface of the through-greasing passage to prevent the grease plug from being lost therein; in another embodiment, a spacing portion is provided on the bottom of the mounting portion, and the spacing portion bears against the inner surface of the through-greasing passage. The grease passage can have various shapes.

摘要： In order to improve the lubrication of relatively moving parts of machinery, in particular of bearings carrying rotating shafts, there is provided a lubricant reservoir adjacent to the bearing in which a movable transport member is located. The transport member may be, for example, a spring, one end of which is attached to the shaft rotating in the bearing so that the centrifugal force imparted to the spring causes its free end to enter into the lubricant reservoir whereupon, when the shaft is slowed down or stopped, the elasticity of the spring causes its return to a rest position, during which lubricant is positively displaced in the direction of the bearing. The motion of the transport member may also be effected by other external influences, for example by a magnetic field.

摘要： A lubricated bearing assembly with rollable elements such as balls is disclosed. The rollable elements may be in a bearing cage and disposed between inner and outer races as in typical ball bearing unit. The inner race is secured to a rotatable shaft and the outer race is mounted in a frame of a machine. A first grease cavity is provided on one axial side of the rollable elements and a second grease cavity is provided on the opposite axial side of the rollable elements. The grease is introduced into one of the cavities, for example, the first cavity and is directed in an axial direction toward the rollable elements and to the spaces between such rollable elements to make sure that grease is provided in such spaces. The opposite grease cavity, for example, the second grease cavity, is provided with walls forming vanes in a radial direction. The action of the vane walls together with the revolution of the rollable elements during rotation of the shaft and inner race provide a small pumping action to locally pressurize the grease and force it from the second cavity through the spaces between the rollable elements into the first cavity. This provides positive greasing of the entire bearing assembly.
