    • The object of the present invention is to allow an operator to easily perform desired operations with high hydraulic efficiency, without an increase in difficulty of performing operations. A hydraulic drive apparatus of the present invention includes a pump control unit 31 that includes: a pump reference command value setting unit 31a that sets a pump reference command value for a hydraulic pump 10 in accordance with the engine speed of an engine 3; a pump correction command value calculating unit 31b that sets a pump command value by determining an inching rate in accordance with the amount of operation when an inching operation is performed, and correcting the pump reference command value in accordance with the inching rate; and a pump control command value setting unit 31c that sets a pump control command value for controlling the capacity of the hydraulic pump 10, based on the pump command value set by the pump correction command value calculating unit 31b.

    • An electronic engine speed control system is used on a work machine utilizing an engine with a governor control movable between a plurality of positions. The governor control is operated by an operator so that a desired engine speed may be selected for driving a plurality of wheels through a transmission. The transmission is specifically controlled to obtain a desired ground speed independent of the selected engine speed. The engine speed control system includes an electronic control module. An operator switch is connected to the control module and is movable to a set position which sends an input signal with a desired engine speed value corresponding to a selected engine speed to the control module. An engine sensor is connectable between the engine and the control module for sensing the speed of the engine and sending an input signal with an actual engine speed value to the control module. An actuator is connected between the control module and the governor control and responsive to a control signal from the control module for moving the governor control to any one of the plurality of positions. The control signal is delivered to the actuator as a function of the desired and actual values so that the engine speed is electronically set and maintained at the selected engine speed.

    • The invention consists of an engine driving a wet clutch and hydrostatic pump and connected hydrostatic motor. The output of the motor drives the sun gear of a hydro-mechanical planetary drive and the output of the clutch drives the ring gear of the same drive. The carrier is the output and drives the rotors of an agricultural combine. The transmission is controlled by a microcomputer. The microcomputer receives signals from an engine speed sensor and a rotor speed sensor and transmits controlling signals to the hydrostatic pump's swash plate and to a clutch valve allowing a quantity of hydraulic fluid to enter the clutch. The microcomputer can also send a signal to brake the ring gear while reversing the direction of the hydrostatic pump motor to allow act as a reverser for the rotor. The microcomputer also can receive signals from the rotor speed sensor to open the clutch valve allowing a quantity of hydraulic fluid to enter and synchronize the clutch. This allows the clutch to slowly begin to rotate the rotors will at the same time limit damage to the clutch.
