    • Vibration isolators can be dimensioned for securement between a rotational motion source and a rotational motion target. The vibration isolators can include a first end member and a second end member supported in substantially-fixed axial position but axially-rotatable relative to the first end member. An intermediate member can be disposed between and operatively engaging the first and second end members. A rotational motion-to-axial motion conversion system is operatively disposed between the intermediate member and the first end member such that rotation of the intermediate member and the second end member generates axial displacement of the intermediate member relative to the first and second end members. A biasing element can be operatively disposed between the intermediate member and one or more of the first and second end members to bias the intermediate member in an axial direction. Rotary power transmissions or system are also included.

    • A filtering mechanism for torque fluctuations is interposed between a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine and a transmission. This mechanism comprises a rotating member to be damped, an oscillating inertial flywheel rotating around the axis of revolution, and pivot-mounted modules allowing angular deflection of the oscillating inertial flywheel with respect to the member to be damped. The modules each have at least one oscillating arm pivoting radially with respect to the member to be damped and a kinematic connecting member between the oscillating arm and the oscillating inertial flywheel. When the mechanism rotates centrifugal forces on the oscillating arm produce a counteracting torque that tends to return the oscillating inertial flywheel and the member to be damped toward the equilibrium position. The counteracting torque increases with the rotation speed of the filtering mechanism and with the amplitude of the angular deflection.

    • A torsional vibration damping arrangement for transmitting a rotation from an input side to an output side includes a first and second torque transmission path arranged between the input side and the output side. A coupling arrangement serves to superpose the first torque component and second torque component. A phase shifter arrangement serves to generate a phase shift between torsional vibrations which are transmitted to the coupling arrangement via the first and second torque transmission paths, wherein the phase shifter arrangement comprises an oscillatory system with a primary side coupled with the input side and a secondary side which is rotatable with respect to the primary side and which is connected to the coupling arrangement. An effective mass moment of inertia of the secondary side inhibiting a change in a rotational velocity of the secondary side is dependent upon the rotational velocity.
