    • A curtain wall system includes a plurality of laminated glass sections or insulated-laminated glass sections, held within a plurality of horizontal extrusions and vertical extrusions. Each laminated glass section includes glass reinforcing bars having a flat bar shape. For insulated-laminated glass, the reinforcing bars have a cross-sectional shape of a ‘Z’ such that a top cap of the glass reinforcing bars extends over the glass section and a bottom cap of the glass reinforcing bars extends over an opposing side. The laminate glass has a layer of glass, a layer of thermoplastic polymer, another layer of glass and a safety shield. The insulated-laminated glass has an outer layer of glass, a gap, a first inner layer of glass, a layer of thermoplastic polymer, a second inner layer of glass and a safety shield. Such curtain wall systems resist wind loads and wind borne debris from ultimate hurricanes and tornadoes.

    • A frame assembly supports an article. The frame assembly comprises a frame member having a plurality of walls extending between a first end and a second end. The walls define an interior of the frame member. The frame assembly also comprises at least one foldable cornerlock. The foldable cornerlock has first and second body portions movable relative to each other. A method of manufacturing the frame assembly comprises the steps of forming at least one notch in the frame member spaced from the ends of the frame member, inserting the foldable cornerlock into the notch, and bending the frame member about the notch of the frame member.

    • An adjustable entrance door with a plurality of extruded sections that are interconnected with tie rods to form a rectangular frame in which a glass panel is mounted. The extruded sections include a lead edge stile, a hinge stile, a top rail and a bottom rail, the tie rods extending through the rails and into the stiles. The top rail is provided with a block that engages the top edge of the panel for relative vertical movement of the lead edge stile and hinge stile. The bottom rail is fitted with an adjustable member that extends the width of the door and is vertically movable for alignment with a threshold.

    • There is provided a new and improved entrance system for a building which permits a latitude of design by the architect. The system includes a door formed of butt joined vertical and side rails, the rails each having side pockets extending beyond spaced webs thereby forming glazing pockets. Longitudinal parts on the tubular structures of the rails define longitudinal screw splines. Twisting and shear stresses between the rails are reacted through a joint block of general T-shape having a body portion fitting within the glazing pocket of one rail and a tongue portion fitting within the tubular structure of the abutting rail. Screw fasteners extend through the joint block and the rails to secure the rails together. Hinges are readily fastened to the vertical rails of the door without cutting through heavy structural portions of the rail. Moreover, a system of push-pull hardware is provided for the doors. A graphic identification system permits the adaptation of the entrance structure for identifying signs and labels. Thus, the program permits wide latitude to the architect with regard to the combination of the elements into building entrances.
