    • The invention is a scaffold access system for use in a scaffold frame of horizontal and vertical scaffold members. The system includes double barrel scaffold horizontal member, a series of short scaffold boards, a series of long scaffold boards, a short vertical scaffold member, a safety gate, and a series of short horizontal members. The double barrel scaffold horizontal member has a upper tube and a lower tube joined in a vertical relationship and a third tube slidable in the lower tube. Each tube has an interior and an exterior end. The upper tube and the third tube have an attachment member positioned on its respective exterior end. The upper tube has an upstanding vertical stub, to which is attached the short vertical scaffold member. The short scaffold boards and the long scaffold boards are placed on the scaffold frame to define a scaffold deck with an access opening. A safety gate and short horizontal scaffold members are used in conjunction with the scaffold frame and vertical stub to define a gated safety rail around the access opening.

    • A hook device having a hook body, a stopper for preventing the hook body from slipping off a member to be connected, an elastic member for biasing the stopper toward a slipping-off preventing position, and a connecting pin for connecting these components together.     • An attachment device for a scaffolding system which includes vertical and horizontal tubes is comprised of a guard rail stud adapter and a first stud. The guard rail stud adapter includes a generally U-shaped member which has a base portion, a first arm connected to the base portion, and a second arm connected to the base portion. At least one of the arms may include an end which has an arcuate cut-out portion for receiving vertical tubes. A second stud is connected to the generally U-shaped member for retaining scaffolding members, such guard rails or other members. A generally l-shaped member connected to the U-shaped member has a first end connected to at least one arm and a hole for receiving the first stud of the scaffolding system. One embodiment is further comprised of a spacer having a counter-bore for receiving the second stud of the scaffolding. Tile spacer is connected between the second stud and the generally U-shaped member. The generally U-shaped member may have a hole aligned with the counter-bore of the spacer. The counter-bore and the hole are dimensioned to receive the second stud. A locking wing latch may be swingably connected to at least one stud to retain the cross braces and the guard rails. The locking wing latch includes a wing having a hole and a roll pin for swingably connecting the wing to the stud. A pair of legs may be connected to the generally U-shaped member. Ribs and gussets may be integral with the generally U-shaped member for reinforcing the adapter. A pair of feet may extend outwardly toward the scaffolding system from the arms to embrace the vertical tubes of scaffolding system.
