    • A movable belt conveyor system for a leach pad for use for sulfidic copper ore, where favorable conditions are to be generated for leaching out the copper by a slight compaction of the ore piled up into a dump for the microbiological leaching technology. The movable belt conveyor system of a length of up to several km is composed of a plurality of smaller belt segments, comprising a tail segment (70), standard segments (711-n) and a head segment (72), as well as a traveling tripper (8). To prevent the loading by these individual components from being excessively compacted by the weight of the device during multiple travel over the dump during the moving process, the belt drives with the driving drum are accommodated in the tail element (70), which is supported on the soil next to the leach pad.     • A continuously operating surface miner designed basically with a milling roller for the accurate, selective mining of sedimentary beds. The parameters cutting height, cutting width and feed speed are decisive for the performance capacity of surface miners. How the miner begins a block to be mined, how it finishes it and changes over to a new block to be mined is significant as well. The particular technology that can be used depends essentially on the mobility of the miner and the possibility of the engagement of the milling roller with the material to be mined. A three-caterpillar chassis for the miner and for arranging the milling roller (15a) in front of the said chassis in the direction of mining is provided. The milling roller (15a) is mounted on a transverse frame (15b) and is fastened by same to the superstructure (8) of the miner. High mobility of the miner is achieved due to this arrangement of the milling roller and the use of the chassis. The miner always travels on a clean, freshly cut level, so that natural unevennesses or ditches dug to drain surface water do not interfere with the travel. Another advantage of this design is that the miner can move backward without problems, can strip corners with ease and can also open basin-shaped deposits with a circular feed movement.

    • An excavating and pipeline installation system includes an excavating vehicle, an excavating wheel assembly and a plurality of conveyors. The excavating wheel assembly includes a pair of excavating wheels for excavating a pipeline receiving trench at a predetermined location beneath the surface of the earth. The excavating wheel assembly is supported at the front end of the vehicle on a subframe mounted for pivotal movement relative to the vehicle between excavating and traveling positions. The excavating wheels are mounted for rotation about angularly disposed axes and are positioned to receive the pipeline therebetween. Bolster rollers are mounted on the excavating wheel assembly for initially lifting the pipeline, and pipeline rollers are mounted on the vehicle for exerting a downwardly directed force on the pipeline upon insertion thereof into the pipeline receiving trench. The conveyors include a main conveyor mounted on the subframe for receiving material from the excavating wheels and for transporting the excavated material upwardly and rearwardly. A plurality of trailers are adapted for connection to the rear of the vehicle, and each trailer includes a conveyor for receiving the excavated material and for transporting the excavated material rearwardly. The excavated material is ultimately redeposited in the pipeline receiving trench subsequent to the positioning of the pipeline therein.
