摘要： There exists a number of youth development programs centered on sports programming. Some of these programs operate on a platform of revitalizing neighborhood spaces to improve community engagement by creating a space for youth to enjoy sports. Oftentimes these neighborhood spaces include restrictions or the surrounding community has needs (like lighting and seating) which are unmet or under-met. Envisioned is a system approach to addressing these needs wherein a wide variety of custom solutions can be produced from prefabricated, modular, and portable components that interface with existing amenities (if any) so to enrich the youth experience and better achieve program objectives. This modular approach provides a common infrastructure for different spaces, different sports, and different levels of play.

摘要： The present invention relates to arenas with selectively configurable seating arrangements for selectively providing viewing access to an event floor from an event level hospitality area. The arena includes a plurality of seats, at least some of which are removable. The plurality of seats is selectively arrangeable in tiered seating sections around the event floor to define one of a first seating arrangement and a second seating arrangement. The tiered seating sections include first and second opposing curved seating sections, and first and second spaced apart straight seating sections. The first straight seating section is located in front of the hospitality area. When the seats are selectively arranged in the first seating arrangement, the first and second straight seating sections are disposed generally parallel to each other and extend between the first and second curved seating sections so as to define an obround distribution of seats around the event floor; and viewing access of the event floor from the hospitality area is impeded by the first straight seating section. When the seats are selectively arranged in the second seating arrangement, the first straight seating section and the first curved seating section are omitted leaving the second straight seating section extending to the second curved seating section; and viewing access of the event floor from the hospitality area is unobstructed.

摘要： A modular synthetic grass playing surface system formed from a plurality of modular units. Each modular unit has a synthetic grass layer placed upon predetermined sized pallets having a pre-installed elastomeric layer. A layer of resilient particle infill is optionally introduced to the top surface of the modular unit. A corrugated plastic sleeve is optionally installed around each formed modular unit while the modular unit is stored and moved. A plurality of modular units are then installed onto a relatively flat surface to form the playing surface in a desired shape and size.

摘要： A sports/recreation facility is provided with seating bank around a playing area (2), and a grass playing surface (12) which is withdrawable from the playing area. The playing area is defined within one end of a shallow dock (16), the dock extending over the playing area and also extending sufficiently outside the playing area in one direction to define an area outside the playing area and seating banks having dimensions at least equal to the playing area. A shallow barge (14) is floatable within the dock and supports the playing surface for movement within the dock between the playing area and the outside area. The water (18) for introduction into the dock is stored within the barge. The dock extends beneath a bank of seating (8) at one side of the playing area, which bank may be formed as a movable unit with the barge providing storage for an additional body of water beyond that needed to float the barge in the dock, which water may be expelled from the barge into the dock so as to elevate the tank beneath the movable bank of seating, thus lifting the seating bank on the barge for movement with the barge between at least two alternatives locations relative to the remaining banks of seating and the playing area.

摘要： Improved turf units for assembling a natural turf playing surface in a stadium or the like. Natural turf units are provided which are transportable between first and second locations, the second location being for the growth and maintenance of the turf unit; the first location being a location for the performance of the desired activity. A fence section hingeably connected to the growing pan of the turf unit provides for maintenance of the top level of the plant growing medium at a significant height above the top of the side walls of the growing pan. A turf unit in accordance with the invention is used to assemble such a playing surface without removable parts. Also, the outer periphery of the fence extends outwardly beyond the outer periphery of the side walls of the growing pans such that, when the turf units are assembled adjacent each other to create the playing surface, large areas exist beneath the playing surface to provide adequate space for drainage of the field. Moreover, a configuration of turf units in accordance with the invention provides for a substantial reduction in the amount of growing medium necessary to create the continuous natural grass playing surface when compared with known turf unit systems.
