    • A composition comprising:(a) from 20 to 60 wt % of a saccharide component comprising from two to five sugar ring units having polymerized units of at least one alkylene oxide selected from the group consisting of ethylene oxide, propylene oxide and butylene oxide bonded to oxygen atoms on said sugar rings and at least three acetoacetyl groups bonded to terminal oxygen atoms of said polymerized units of at least one alkylene oxide; and(b) from 40 to 80 wt % of a non-saccharide component comprising a polyol unit not containing a sugar ring and having a hydroxyl functionality from two to five; said polyol unit having polymerized units of at least one alkylene oxide selected from the group consisting of ethylene oxide, propylene oxide and butylene oxide bonded to hydroxyl oxygen atoms of the polyol and at least two acetoacetyl groups bonded to terminal oxygen atoms of said polymerized units of at least one alkylene oxide;wherein total polymerized units of at least one alkylene oxide comprise from 20 to 80 wt % of said multi-functional additive.

    • The present invention provides a viscosity modifier (A) for thermoplastic polyester resin obtainable by polymerizing (a) 70 to 95% by weight of an aromatic vinyl monomer, (b) 5 to 30% by weight of an alkyl acrylate having an alkyl group with 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and (c) 0 to 10% by weight of other vinyl monomers copolymerizable with both; a viscosity modifier (A′) for thermoplastic polyester resin characterized by covering 100 parts by weight of polymer particles (A-1) with 0.5 to 30 parts by weight of polymer particles (A-2), the polymer particle (A-1) are obtained by polymerizing (a) 70 to 95% by weight of an aromatic vinyl monomer, (b) 5 to 30% by weight of an alkyl acrylate having an alkyl group with 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and (c) 0 to 10% by weight of other vinyl monomers copolymerizable with both and having a glass transition temperature of 60° C. or higher and a volume-average particle diameter of 50 to 500 μm, and the polymer particles (A-2) have volume-average particle diameter of 0.01 to 0.5 μm; and a thermoplastic polyester resin composition and a molded article containing the viscosity modifier.

    • The present invention is to provide a toner that has a total volatile organic component content (TVOC content) reduced to a low level, is less likely to cause fog even when used in either a low-temperature and low-humidity environment or a high-temperature and high-humidity environment, does not cause filming even in continuous printing, and is excellent in printing durability. Disclosed is a toner comprising a binder resin, a wax, a charge control resin and a colorant, wherein, as a result of gas chromatography analysis of a supernatant obtained by dissolving the charge control resin in a first organic solvent to prepare a charge control resin solution and then adding a second organic solvent to the charge control resin solution to precipitate a polymer component and to obtain the supernatant, a first total amount of components detected in a range of a peak detecting time of hydrocarbons having 5 to 9 carbons is 500 ppm or less in terms of styrene; a second total amount of components detected in a range of a peak detecting time of hydrocarbons having 10 to 18 carbons is 5,000 ppm or less in terms of styrene; and an amount of a component corresponding to a maximum peak of peaks of hydrocarbons having 10 to 18 carbons is 3,000 ppm or less in terms of styrene.

    • The present invention provides a multi-branched polyalkylene glycol polymer useful for various applications, especially for an admixture for cement, a dispersant, admixture for cement, and cement composition each comprising the same, a thiol compound having a polyalkylene glycol chain useful for materials and the like of the polymer, and a method for easily and effectively producing the multi-branched polyalkylene glycol polymer and the thiol compound having a polyalkylene glycol chain at low cost. The multi-branched polymer comprises: a polyalkylene glycol chain; a residue of a compound having three or more active hydrogen atoms; and a polymer portion having a constitutional unit derived from a vinyl monomer component, one end of the polyalkylene glycol chain bonding to the residue, and a terminal oxygen atom of at least one of the other ends of the polyalkylene glycol chain bonding to a main chain end of the polymer portion directly or via an organic residue.
