    • A crane has a rotatable body with a vertically pivotal boom connected thereto. An energy absorbing stop unit is mounted in a fixed position on the body, and a guide sleeve is pivotally mounted on the body adjacent the stop unit. A stop rod is pivotally connected to the boom at a point between the ends of the boom for vertical swinging movement, and the rod is maintained in the guide sleeve in every position of the boom. The guide sleeve is pivoted by the stop rod into alignment with the stop unit at the extreme upper position of the boom, and, at that position of the boom, the stop rod extends through the guide sleeve into engagement with the stop unit.

    • A gravity actuated crane stop for a crane is disclosed. The gravity actuated crane stop has a first connector at a first end configured to couple to a first crane member and an interface at a second end configured to interface with a second crane member. A gravity actuated mechanism is disposed on the body and has a first configuration in which gravity actuated mechanism disables the interface, and a second configuration in which the gravity actuated mechanism does not disable the interface. The gravity actuated mechanism is automatically changeable from the first configuration to the second configuration as the body is moved from a first orientation relative to a horizontal plane to a second orientation relative to the horizontal plane.

    • A compressible stop member for use on a crane includes: a housing having a first sealed end, a second end, a first cylindrical surface and a second cylindrical surface; a free piston slidably contained within the housing in a sealing engagement with the first cylindrical surface; a compressed gas chamber in the housing between the free piston and the first sealed end; and a rod comprising a cylindrical portion with a diameter less than the diameter of the second cylindrical surface and a rod support portion that separates a first liquid chamber comprising the volume inside the housing between the free piston and the rod support portion from a second liquid chamber comprising the volume between the rod support portion and the second end of the housing. Also, the rod support portion includes at least one flow channel allowing liquid to flow between the first and second liquid chambers.

    • Fall-back prevention press of a crane in the form of a gas pressure cylinder, with a piston rod engaging in a cylinder space of the gas pressure cylinder configured as piston-type accumulator, with gas in the bottom space of the cylinder being in exchange with the gas in the piston rod and the ring space in surrounding relationship to the piston rod. A seal arrangement in a rod guide of the cylinder seals the piston rod against the cylinder. The seal arrangement includes a lubricant groove which extends around the rod guide and via which the piston rod is lubricated on the outside. The lubricant is acted upon by gas pressure prevailing in the cylinder with interposition of a pressure transmitter.
