    • A multiple block lifting device that includes two support arms pivotally connected at the opposite ends enabling the support arms to move from a closed, parallel configuration to an open, linear configuration. Attached to each arm is at least one block attachment unit that selectively connects to one block. In the preferred embodiment, the movement of the support arms and each block attachment unit is controlled by hydraulic cylinders and a main control valve. When paired blocks are aligned on a pallet, the device is in a closed, parallel configuration, and each block lifting unit engages a block. The device is then lifted and the support arms are aligned in the open, linear configuration. Each arm may include an optional extension arm that enables the device to lift additional blocks.

    • These and other objects of the invention which will become apparent are met by a concrete block lifting device used to lift at least two blocks off a pallet for repositioning on a wall. The device includes a rigid, horizontal, support bar with a block gripping assembly attached thereto designed to selectively attach to blocks on a pallet and then securely engage the blocks when the device is lifted by the backhoe. The block gripping assembly includes a insert member perpendicularly aligned and extending downward from the support bar. Mounted pivotally on each insert member is an actuator arm. The upper end of the actuator arm is pivotally connected to a linking arm and a release handle. The upper ends of two linking arms converge and attach to a central plate. A cable connects the central plate to a bucket on a backhoe. When the central plate is lifted, the linking arms force the upper end of the actuator arms inward which forces the lower ends of the actuator arm outward to engage the inside wall of a central hole formed on the block.

    • A pallet hook is provided to aid in the lifting of tube frame products made for the wire and tubing industry. The tool or device has four movable flippers that extend outward to grab the tube based frame of the item to be lifted. A movable linkage connected to the handle provides the means to lift the flippers out of the way for extraction. These flippers, when impinging against the stop block, provide the locking force necessary to lift. A lifting eye located on the end of the handle provides a connection point for a crane or other type of lifting aid. After the item has been moved and the crane hook disconnected, the user simply lifts the handle of the invention to retract the internal flippers and then withdraws the invention.

    • A power assisted roll handling attachment for a lifting apparatus. Its support frame includes a gearmotor assembly and guides and is adapted for attachment to the lifting apparatus. A movable roll support assembly includes a support beam, a roll core mandrel assembly and a rack member having a curved portion. The rack member is adapted for being driven by a drive member carried on the output shaft of the gear motor. The support beam has a cross section defined by a flanged portion and a web portion. The support beam is formed in an L-shape having a first end, a second end and a radial portion formed therebetween. The rack member is positioned in a spaced parallel relationship with the flange portion. The roll support assembly is supported by the guides. Selective energizing of the gearmotor moves the roll support assembly with respect to the support frame thereby moving any roll of material carried by the roll support assembly from a first angular position to a second angular position by movement through the radial portion. Selective linear movement may be provided at the first end or second end.

    • The invention is a device for attaching a lifting cable or the like to a concrete block or other heavy object. The invention has a pair of pivoting cam members mounted to frame. The frame and cam members are dimensioned so that they can be fit within a space within the block when the device is in a relaxed condition. A linkage, which is connected to the lifting cable, drives the cam members outwardly against the walls of the space when the lifting cable is put in tension. This wedges the device in the space. The greater the tension in the lifting cable, the greater the wedging force.
