摘要： A hand-held device for joining fishing line segments of monofilament, fluorocarbon, and/or braid lines of similar or differing sizes or combinations. The device is electrically powered and is portable. The device includes an encasement for orienting the fishing line segments in a closed chamber in close, tensioned, non-contacting orientation. A material is injected into the closed chamber to encase the lines. This material can be adhesive material or a flowable polymer material having, typically, a melting temperature lower than the line segments to be bonded. Alternatively, A pre-formed, flexible polymer sheath (or sleeve) is used to retain the line segments in the chamber. A heater heats the polymer sheath (or sleeve) within the encasement to allow the polymer to flow and encase the line segments without melting the line segments. Bonding of the line segments can be achieved without melting, abrading, compressing, or impairing the integrity the line segment(s) to be encased. The result is a system that is able to join various types and sizes of fishing line segments together or securing hooks or other components to at least one line.

摘要： An apparatus for thermally splicing a plurality of associated pairs of yarn ends employed in tufting carpet is provided, having an electrically conductive wire extending across a width of a beam of yarn ends as a heating element, the wire being biased in tension between a pair of springs attached to the wire and to terminal mounted on a bracket member. A yarn end spacing and gaging bar is also mounted to the bracket to retain the associated pairs of yarn ends in a contacting relation in recesses disposed between teeth on the bar, the pairs of yarn ends being made up of yarn ends severed from a spent beam of yarn and associated yarn ends from a fresh beam of yarn. The apparatus maintains the heating element in a substantially fixed position with respect to the plurality of associated pairs of yarn ends to effect a substantially simultaneous heating and melting together of the pairs of yarn ends, and is preferably removably mounted to a beam rack holding the fresh beam.

摘要： Method of uniting the ends of thermoplastic threads or yarns by twisting the ends over a short length with the twisted length being clamped and held under tension and applying heat to a relatively small area of the twisted length so as to melt and bond the threads together as they are simultaneously caused to untwist under the release of tension. The method essentially includes two clamping means adapted to receive and hold the twisted length of threads, and a heating element preferably positioned immediately adjacent one of the clamping means and adapted to melt and bond the ends of the thread.

摘要： A thread connecting device for a sewing machine cuts an upper thread which is extending between the sewing machine and one of a plurality of thread spools, and connects an end of a thread belonging to the sewing machine and an end of a thread belonging to the thread spool, in such a manner that the connected part of the threads can smoothly pass through a needle eye, whereby it is possible to supply a desired color thread with respect to the sewing machine having a single needle bar. Therefore the applicable scope of the pattern stitching may be largely widened for colored clothes or other fabrics, especially an embroidery stitching may be performed which requires many kinds of color threads.

摘要： Thermoplastic yarn ends are spliced by overlapping side-by-side and spinning with an air jet circumferentially around a longitudinal axis of a cylindrical cavity with sufficient initial slack to insure engagement with the wall of said cavity. Heat is generated by the spinning action and concentrated in high twist nodal points giving rise to plasticization of the yarn and bonding of adjacent fibers. The spinning device has gripping elements for securing the yarn ends and introducing the necessary predetermined slack.
