    • A bobbin tube clamping device for a bobbin chuck for textile bobbins comprising a tubular sleeve member for supporting the textile bobbin tube and a chuck member movable within the sleeve member in the axial direction of the bobbin chuck. The bobbin chuck contains at least three openings extending substantially in the axial direction of the lengthwise axis of the bobbin chuck. Each opening is provided with at least two guide surfaces for guiding an associated bobbin tube clamping element. The portion of the bobbin tube clamping element which is guided by the associated opening is substantially segment shaped at least at its end protruding from the bobbin chuck and the oppositely situated parallel surfaces or walls of such segment-shaped end of the bobbin tube clamping element slidingly contact the guide surface of the associated opening. Each bobbin tube clamping element following the portion thereof which slidingly contacts the guide surfaces is provided with an enlarged gliding portion extending into the interior of the tubular sleeve member and protruding past the parallel walls of the segment-shaped portion thereof.

    • A spindle for rotating a yarn support to wind yarn upon the support includes a rotatable portion and a stationary portion. The rotatable portion has a sleeve therearound which is positioned over a recess to which a vacuum is applied when it is desired to remove the yarn support from the spindle. No vacuum is applied to the sleeve while the sleeve is rotating so that the sleeve bears against the yarn support and holds it on the spindle. In addition, centering means are utilized with the spindle to keep the yarn support from bowing when rotated at high speeds. Centering means utilize a series of floating weights which are urged by centrifugal force against the inside of the yarn support at a location in the middle of the yarn support. In an additional embodiment herein disclosed, a centrifugally operated seal is used to apply and release the vacuum which collapses and expands the sleeve which engages the inner surface of the yarn support.

    • A process and apparatus for texturizing yarn by false twisting. Means supply yarn to a first novel oven at controlled tension and speed. The yarn is then applied to an air jet twisting assembly having two separate upper and lower bodies with a disc insert with slots to direct and provide a whirling air stream within the twister assembly, thereby providing a false twist to the yarn. An air diffuser is placed between the twisting assembly and the first oven and a second oven is provided after the twisting assembly to heat-relax and remove some of the twist. The tension of the yarn is continuously controlled throughout. Novel means are provided for winding and doffing the texturized yarns as well as for controlling the speed and tension of the yarn throughout.
