摘要： A sheet transporting apparatus is provided, including a transport mechanism provided with a roller, a motor, a controller, and a measuring input unit, wherein a transport route has a curved area for inverting the sheet, and the controller is constructed such that the control on the motor is executed by a closed loop control system by using a measured value of an control output at an initial stage of the transport of a sheet from a tray, and the control on the motor is switched from the control performed by the closed loop control system to control performed by an open loop control system on condition that a preset phenomenon arises after the sheet is taken out of the tray.

摘要： A sheet feeder is provided. The sheet feeder includes a roller to feed a sheet, a motor to rotate the roller, and a motor controller to control rotation of the motor by a feedback control. The motor controller detects a condition of the sheet based on a value acquired in the feedback control at the time a load is applied from the sheet to the roller, while performing a stop control to stop the roller at a designated stop position. The stop control is performed after the motor is rotated in a direction opposite to a direction of feed of the sheet.

摘要： A system and method are provided for implementing an automated process that independently manipulates a plurality of span-wise discrete individual pressure actuators in a movable pressure assembly associated with a nip-based drive unit to drive tensioned web continuous feed image receiving media in web-based printing devices. The disclosed process varyingly adjusts a relative pressure of between the opposing rolls to address a detected wrinkling condition. A closed loop detection and control scheme is provided in which, based on a determination that wrinkling is occurring in tensioned web continuous feed image receiving media, and isolation of a spanwise location in which the wrinkling is occurring, differential signals may be sent to one or more of a plurality of span-wise discrete individual pressure actuators in a movable pressure assembly to varyingly adjust a relative pressure of the two opposing rolls across a spanwise pressure nip.

The steering frame includes a first roller oriented to tension a web of continuous-forms print media as the web proceeds through the steering frame, and a second roller oriented to tension the web as the web proceeds through the steering frame. The steering frame also includes a first actuator configured to adjust a lateral position of the web by pivoting the first and second roller about a first axis, and a second actuator configured to adjust a direction of the web in-plane with a surface of the web by pivoting the second roller about a second axis that is coplanar with the first axis.

A side edge sensor of a stacker detects a lateral shift amount of a sheet conveyed into the stacker. A stacker controller corrects lateral shift of the sheet by a shift unit. A side edge sensor of a finisher disposed downstream of the stacker detects a lateral shift amount of a sheet conveyed into the finisher. The finisher sends the detected lateral shift amount to the stacker. The stacker receives the lateral shift amount from the finisher, and the stacker controller corrects lateral shift of subsequent sheets based on both the lateral shift amount detected in the stacker and the lateral shift amount sent from the finisher.
