    • An apparatus including a box portion which may include a left side, a right side, a front side, a rear side, and a bottom. Each of the left, the right, the front, and the rear sides is connected to the bottom to be foldable with respect to the bottom, from an orientation parallel to the bottom to an orientation substantially perpendicular to the bottom. A device may be connected to the bottom, including an inner peripheral wall which extends, substantially perpendicularly from the bottom. The inner peripheral wall may be substantially in the shape of a loop and may have a width and a length, substantially perpendicular to the height of the device, slightly less than a width and a length, respectively, of an inner chamber defined by top edges of the left, the right, the front, and the rear sides, of the box portion in an upright state.

    • An article carrier comprises upstanding walls adjoining a reinforced bottom wall. The reinforced bottom wall has an arrangement of lesser-reinforced regions. Each lesser-reinforced region may comprise a region of enhanced deformability. The reinforced bottom wall comprises at least a first bottom-wall panel and a second bottom-wall panel disposed in face-contacting relationship with respect to one another. Each lesser-reinforced region may comprise an aperture in one of the first bottom-wall panel and the second bottom-wall panel. Each lesser-reinforced region may comprise an embossment in one of the first bottom-wall panel and the second bottom-wall panel. Each lesser-reinforced region may comprise an embossment in one of the first bottom-wall panel and the second bottom-wall panel and an aperture in another one of the first bottom-wall panel and the second bottom-wall panel in alignment with the embossment.

    • A stackable tray is constructed of a bottom wall, a pair of end walls extending upwardly from the bottom wall, and a pair of side walls extending upwardly from the bottom wall and between the end walls. The end and side walls are preferably divergent in an upward direction. A pair of stacking support walls extend upwardly relative to the bottom wall, and are spaced slightly inwardly from the tray end walls. The stacking support walls are interconnected with the tray side walls. The side walls and stacking support walls are constructed of folded panels, and tabs are formed on the stacking support walls and on inner panels of the side walls, and the tabs of the stacking support walls and side walls function to interconnect the stacking support walls with the side walls upon folding of the stacking support wall panels and the side wall panels.

    • A pile up tray includes a base piece shaped as a cask, cast to be a bottom of the tray in which a rising double marginal flange is provided and to which at least one other piece is jointed. The other piece forms at least part of the side walls of the tray. The cask is placed inside of the piece or pieces that form the side walls of the tray, overhanding with respect to the lower edge of the pieces that form the side walls of the tray, so that during the piling of a number of trays up, the bottom part of each tray is placed into a mouth of the lower tray. The side walls of the tray can be provided with folding flanges which fold towards the inside of the tray and are fixed to the side walls by glue, to provide the tray with more resistance to compression.

    • A stackable package for storing fruit or like objects is in the form of a tray, carton or case (1) with a pair of panel supports (6) provided adjacent each end wall (3). The panel supports (6) substantially bear the weight of like packages positioned thereabove when a stack of packages is formed. The panel supports have a pair of protrusions (8) on the upper edge thereof and a pair of recesses (14) adjacent the lower edge thereof wherein the protrusions can be positioned in the recesses of a package positioned thereabove when two or more packages are stacked. So that a stiff protrusion is provided, the panel support is formed from dual arch corrugated board having two layers of corrugated board joined at the protrusions. The wedge-shaped protrusions (8) thus produced can be readily indexed in adjacent recesses (18) in the base of a carton stacked above, and in top lid apertures (23, 24) in the closed position.
