摘要： A laminate generally includes: a. a multilayer, gas-impermeable film capable of delaminating into a gas-permeable portion and a gas-impermeable portion, the gas-permeable portion in adherence with the gas-impermeable portion at a predetermined intra-film cohesive strength; and b. a gas-permeable film bonded to the gas-impermeable film at a bond-strength that is greater than the intra-film cohesive strength between the gas-permeable and gas-impermeable portions of the gas-impermeable film. In this manner, when the laminate is subjected to a delaminating force, the laminate delaminates within the gas-impermeable film such that the gas-permeable portion of the gas-impermeable film remains bonded to the gas-permeable film. A package and method of making a package using the laminate as a lidding film are also disclosed.

In one aspect, the container has a reservoir portion into which liquid can be sequestered. In another aspect, the container includes a thermoformable substrate, a liner, and a lidding material, the lidding and the liner defining a compartment for containing articles. The compartment can be detached from the substrate by detaching the liner from the substrate without necessarily rupturing the compartment. A substantial portion of the containers described herein can be recycled by separating the liner and/or lidding from the substrate. The disclosure also relates to methods of making thermoformed articles having multiple layers that does not rely on use of a coextruded or other composite thermoplastic-containing substrate.

Each tab is relatively thin and flexible, having sufficient strength to normally keep the containers connected, yet being frangible such that the tab may be broken by being bent or torn, thus allowing consecutive beverage containers to be separated and the contents thereof consumed.

The top surface includes a plurality of discrete openings defining respective compartments extending downwardly from the top surface of the base. A first reclosable lid covers the perimeter opening when the container is closed to resist transfer of solid matter between the compartments of the base. An additional reclosable lid encloses one of the compartments to resist liquid from exiting the compartment when the compartment is closed.

The container body is prepared by deep-drawing the laminate sheet with the resin layer inside. The aluminum foil is 40-200 .mu.m in thickness, 9.0-25.0 kgf/mm.sup.2 in tensile strength, 2.5-9.5 kgf/mm.sup.2 in proof stress, 10 to 40% in elongation and up to 7% in earing ratio. The resin layer comprises a thermoplastic resin 100-500 .mu.m in thicknes, 0.92-1.08 in the ratio of modulus of elasticity in tension in the machine directon (MD) to that in the transverse direction (TD), 0.60-1.40 in the MD/TD ratio of elongation and 0.40-1.60 in the MD/TD ratio of breaking strength.

摘要： A package for the storage of food or other suitable products includes a tray and, optionally, a lidding film. The tray is thermoformed, molded, or otherwise shaped to provide a recessed portion and flange, the recessed portion defining a product-receiving cavity. The flange includes a frame portion surrounding the cavity and a margin portion disposed alongside the frame portion and, in some embodiments, extending substantially a full width of the tray. The optional lidding film attaches to both the frame and margin portions and typically seals the cavity. The margin portion and a side wall of the recessed portion may include locking features to allow the margin portion to snap close against the side wall. The package may then be made to stand on end with the margin portion acting as a base. The lidding film may include a peelable/sealable film to allow repeated access to the product while sealing the cavity between uses.

摘要： A container can include a body having a volume defined therein for retaining a product. The body can include a top surface adapted to be sealed by a lid. The container further includes a channel defined in a portion of the body such that the channel is in fluid communication with the internal volume at a first end and sealed by a portion of the body at an oppositely disposed second end. The container further includes a top flange surrounding the top surface of the body and includes a portion that borders the channel, with removal line disposed in the container to define a removable portion. The removal line extends from a first edge to a second edge and through the channel such that the removable portion can be removed from the body along the removal line to expose the channel.
