摘要： A system is provided for time multiplexing a plurality of optical scanners. The system includes at least two electro-optical detection systems, each including means for receiving an image of an object and producing an electrical signal output in response to the sensing of an image, mirror means movable to scan a first location and reflect an image of any object at the first location to the first detection system and to scan a second location to reflect an image of any object at the second location to the second detection system and means for moving the mirror to continuously scan the first and second locations. The system further includes means for processing the electrical signal outputs of the detection system and switch means for alternately connecting the outputs of the first and second detection system to the processing means.

摘要： An apparatus for reading information provided in the form of a code on an information carrier, the apparatus including means for generating a rotating light beam which is refracted by a prism through a window onto an information carrier to sweep the code thereon, light reflected from the code being thereafter detected and interpreted by suitable means. The employment of the prism reduces the dimensions of the area swept by the light beam by deflecting portions of the light beam through the window which without the prism would need to be at least as wide as the diameter of a circle swept by the light beam.

摘要： A scanning mechanism including a rotating prism and having a relatively flat response irrespective of range variations between the scanning system and the object scanned is described. The inventive system is also free of scanning radiation scatter problems and is easily aligned. These advantages are obtained by utilizing an interference filter in the detection path of the reflected energy and also by detecting reflected energy from a surface of the prism which is different from the transmitting surface.

摘要： An apparatus for sensing and automatically decoding data printed or otherwise marked on objects moving past the apparatus. The coded data is in the form of one or more data channels each comprising a plurality of substantially uniform width stripes of alternating contrast characteristics. Each channel has a sensor array associated with it. Sensing of the coded data present in each channel is accomplished by matching sensor width to that of the coded data stripes and by utilizing sensor arrays that accomplish spatial filtering and signal reinforcement of the data present on each coded channel. Logic circuits sequentially determine the binary or numerical value of elements of coded data as they pass before the apparatus.
