    • An air brake security locking system retains semi-trailers in a fixed position to prevent theft and is connected to an air brake line of the semi-trailer. The system includes a battery-powered valve which isolates air lines within the braking system at a low-pressure condition, thereby maintaining continuous braking of the wheels. The system includes a locked control box to secure and protect a user interface used to activate the system by entry of a numeric code using a keypad or by using a bypass key lock. A wireless remote actuation device is also utilized to activate the system from a distance. In a deactivated state, the system allows the braking system of the semi-trailer operates as normal. In an activated state, the system securely applies the spring brake units of the semi-trailer preventing movement and possible theft.

The actuating device further comprises a manually actuatable operating element (2, 2) for actuating the parking brake, wherein the operating element (2, 2′) comprises a plurality of travel positions (18, 20, 83, 84), wherein the actuating device can be switched to the second switched state in a first travel position (18) in the case of a released parking brake, and wherein the actuating device can be switched to the first switched state in the case of an applied parking brake. According to the invention, the actuating device can be switched to a further switched state. The invention further relates to a method for actuating said actuating device, wherein the actuating device is switched to the further switched state in response to an actuation.

    • A brake system for a tractor-trailer vehicle includes a service brake system and a park brake system. The service and park brake systems are used to brake both a tractor and a trailer towed by the tractor. A trailer hand control valve is actuated by a vehicle operator to brake the trailer. The park brake system includes a park brake control valve that receives input commands from the vehicle operator to apply and release park brakes on the tractor and the trailer. An interlock valve assembly fluidly connects the park brake control valve to primary and secondary air supplies. The trailer hand control valve is also fluidly connected to the interlock valve assembly. The interlock valve assembly includes an outlet port that supplies an air signal to the trailer from one of the primary air source, secondary air source, or trailer hand control valve via a single connection line.

    • A fluid pressure braking system for a heavy vehicle is provided with a supply reservoir and a pair of service reservoirs which are charged from the supply reservoir through a corresponding pair of pressure protection valves. The emergency/parking braking system is charged directly from the supply reservoir through a pressure protection valve which is set to open at a pressure level greater than that at which the pressure protection valves protecting the service reservoirs open. Accordingly, it is not possible to release the emergency spring brakes until the service reservoirs are charged to a safe operating level, and it is not possible to bleed down both of the service reservoirs and to thereby effect an emergency brake application due to a single failure in the systems.
