    • An aircraft security alarm system uses proximity sensors mounted in adjacent pairs to any access area into an aircraft, The proximity sensors are connected electrically to a battery-powered control box with a miniature LED remote indicator light to identify that the system is activated. When any door or cover over an access area is moved, opened, or otherwise accessed, a switch in one of the pair of proximity sensors detects the movement. The proximity sensor sends a signal to the control box, which in turn triggers a high decibel/high pitch siren/horn that sounds indefinitely until the system is disarmed via a wireless remote control.

    • A system of securing access to vehicle control systems using non-persistent identifiers. Identifiers are received and stored at the commencement of vehicle operations. Restricted events are detected and confirmation identifiers are requested, in order to continue vehicle operations. If confirmation identifiers are not presented, vehicle operations enter caution mode, and access to vehicle controls is restricted. Upon termination of a vehicle trip, the non-persistent identifiers are discarded. The system provides a convenient, low-overhead, secure means of regulating access to vehicle control systems.

    • The present invention is directed to preventing a hijacker from gaining sufficient flight control of an airliner to use it to do harm. One embodiment of the invention detects when the pilot is not seated and verifies the authorization for the seat to be empty. If the required authorization is not timely provided, a processor executes a hijacking response that includes locking out the flight controls, uninterruptibly and autonomously communicating events on-board the aircraft to ground controllers and others, and uninterruptibly and autonomously navigating the aircraft to a safe landing without control inputs from the cockpit. The present invention, a vehicle security system, is also useful on other vehicles. An embodiment for an automobile is described.

    • An airplane anti-hijacking system includes components on board an airplane for producing informational signals reflecting conditions on board the airplane. Communications equipment on board the airplane that can be activated by onboard airplane personnel (e.g., during a hijack attempt or other emergency), automatically sends the informational signals to a ground station or other remote station to provide real-time information to the remote station. One embodiment sends audio, video, and sensor information along with the cockpit audio and flight recorder information already being recorded by an onboard black box system, and the communications equipment can be activated by cockpit personnel, predetermined senior flight attendants, and onboard security personnel. Preferably, the communications equipment on board the airplane is adapted to provide two-way communications with the remote station and includes means for enabling personnel at the remote station to activate the communications equipment and to actuate control components on board the airplane that perform various onboard operations (e.g., dumping fuel, taking over flight control and flying the airplane by remote control, etc.).
