    • A headrest holder includes two tension pieces defined in the body portion thereof and a head portion. The two tension pieces, each including a protrudent portion, are spaced apart from each other along the longitudinal direction of that body portion, while being in a mutually facing relation, so that a headrest stay inserted in the headrest holder is retained between the two protrudent portions against wobbling. Further, those two tension pieces and either the head portion or a support bracket of seat frame establish three supportive points. Namely, the headrest holder inserted in the support bracket is retained against wobbling because the two protrudent portions and the headrest holder's neck portion closely contact the support bracket. Also, a headrest stay inserted in the headrest holder is retained against wobbling because the two protrudent portions and headrest holder's head portion closely contact the headrest stay.

    • The system for locking a movable element of a seat to a stationary element comprises a wall of a first one of said elements which is provided with a window into which a hook connected to the other element penetrates following an insertion direction substantially perpendicular to the wall and a resiliently retractable interlocking member constituted by a ring made of a wire of a material resistant to shearing. A shiftable part of the ring extends in contact with the wall across the window. The ring comprises two ends spaced apart from the shiftable part and oriented in a same axial direction perpendicular to the wall and around which the ring can be pivoted, the ends being offset one with respect to the other and the axes of the ends being maintained in a common plane which is stationary with respect to the support. The shiftable part is able to shift by an elastic deformation of the wire in a direction parallel to the wall and cooperates with the hook to provide reliable interlocking.

    • Apparatus for preventing whiplash-related injuries to a passenger in a vehicle. The apparatus includes a frame supported on a seat of the vehicle and located behind the cranium and cervical spine of a passenger on the seat. A layer of resilient material is supported on the frame, and defines a supporting means located behind the cranium and cervical spine of the passenger which defines one or more contours that interfit with the posterior contour of the passenger's cranium and cervical spine. The apparatus thereby contacts and supports the posterior portion of the passenger's cervical spine substantially simultaneously with contact and support of the passenger's cranium, thereby substantially simultaneously decelerating the cranium and cervical spine during a vehicle collision to prevent whiplash-related injuries to the passenger.
