    • An electric generator has an outer rotor supported on a housing for rotation about an axis and a shaft input end lying on the axis at a first end of the housing. An inner rotor is supported on the housing for rotation about the axis and has a shaft input end lying on the axis at a second end of the housing. The outer rotor has an outer rotor generator winding. The inner rotor has an inner rotor generator winding. An outer rotor one-way clutch allows the outer rotor to be rotated by its shaft input end only in one direction. An inner rotor one-way clutch allows the inner rotor to be rotated by its shaft input end only in a direction which is opposite the direction of the outer rotor allowed by the outer rotor one-way clutch. Respective internal combustion engines operate the respective rotors.

An example method disclosed herein includes determining whether the auxiliary machine is to assist the host machine in a plurality of work cells in a work area; based on determining whether the auxiliary machine is to assist the host machine in one of the plurality of work cells, assigning an auxiliary power mode for the one of the plurality of work cells, the auxiliary power mode comprising one of a neutral mode or a power assist mode; and in power assist mode, controlling the auxiliary machine to provide auxiliary tractive power in one of the plurality of work cells, and in neutral mode, controlling the auxiliary machine to free wheel in another one of the plurality of work cells.

    • A power delivery system for a vehicle is disclosed. In one embodiment, the power delivery system includes a chassis engine configured to power driving functions of the vehicle and an auxiliary engine configured to power non-driving hydraulic functions of the vehicle. The power delivery system may also include a power boost system comprising a hydraulic pump and a hydraulic motor in fluid communication with each other. The hydraulic pump may be coupled to a power output of the chassis engine while the hydraulic motor may be coupled to a power output of the auxiliary engine. In one embodiment, the power delivery system has a power sharing mode in which power is transferred from the chassis engine power output to the auxiliary engine power output via the hydraulic pump and motor such that the non-driving hydraulic functions of the vehicle are simultaneously powered by the chassis engine and the auxiliary engine.

    • An improved gas-electric power delivery system is provided. The invention provides an array of internal combustion engine-powered electric generators and an array of electric drive motors wherein each electric drive motor connects to a common shaft. The common shaft of the electric drive motor array connects to a mechanical load of varying power demand. The electric drive motors draw power from a battery in response to demands on the motors by the varying power demands of the external load. The array of electric generators charges the battery and each such generator turns on and off, as needed, to maintain the battery charge in response to demands on the battery by the electric drive motor array. Each electric motor connected to a common shaft in the electric motor array also turns on and off, as needed, to meet the varying power demands of the external load.
