    • The invention described herein relates to methods and systems for printing. More specifically, the present invention provides methods and systems for printing using a disposable substrate containing an essentially dry layer of microcapsules which contain a colorless dye compound or dye developing compound and a substantially dry layer of containing a complementary compound in a second substrate region for reaction with the dye or dye developing compound to form a visible image. The disposable printing system according to the invention provides a reduced availability for bacterial growth and transfer due to its essentially dry characteristics.

    • The present invention is connected with a pressure sensitive copy material using a color former solution in which an electron accepting developer and an electron donating color former capable of developing a color when brought into contact with the developer are dissolved in a solvent, and as the solvent in the color former solution, a solvent composition is used which comprises (a) 5 to 50% by volume of one selected from the group consisting of a hydrogenated lower polymer of propylene and/or a butene, an alicyclic hydrocarbon, an alkylbenzene and a kerosine fraction, and (b) 50 to 95% by volume of a bicyclic aromatic hydrocarbon and/or a chlorinated paraffin oil having a viscosity of 3 cSt or more at 40.degree. C., the aforesaid developer comprising an aromatic carboxylic acid, a polymer thereof, a metallic salt thereof, a polyvalent metallized carboxy-modified terpene phenolic resin or a derivative thereof.

    • A carbonless paper solvent, a method of solubilizing a chromogenic material, and a recording sheet, all utilizing triisopropyltoluene, are the subject of the present invention. Triisopropyltoluene may be obtained by the alkylation of toluene and the resulting product will normally contain the 2,3,5, the 2,4,5 and the 2,4,6 isomers. The triisopropyltoluene may be combined with other known dye solvents such as alkylated naphthalenes, diarylmethanes and alkylated biphenyls to present a carbonless paper solvent or it may be utilized alone. The triisopropyltoluene will normally be present in a quantity of at least 40% by weight of the total solvent. A recording sheet may be formed by a paper which is coated with a continuous layer of microcapsules containing chromogenic marking material and a solvent comprising triisopropyltoluene.
