    • A baffle or reinforcer includes a carrier configured to be disposed in a cavity and a fixation mechanism disposed on the carrier and configured to at least partially support the carrier in the cavity. The fixation mechanism defines an opening for receiving an expandable material. The fixation mechanism has an anti-return device configured to prevent at least a portion of the expandable material from escaping through the opening during expansion. A method includes inserting the carrier into the cavity, injecting the expandable material into the cavity via the opening in the fixation mechanism, expanding the expandable material within the cavity, and preventing at least a portion of the expandable material from escaping through the opening during expansion.

    • A method for forming a headrest, which involves pre-assembling an incomplete headrest unit including a trim cover assembly having an opening therein and a headrest frame having been placed via the opening within the trim cover assembly, and a foaming process for subjecting such incomplete headrest unit to a foaming by injecting a liquid base foaming material into the interior of trim cover assembly and curing that foaming material, so as to produce a final headrest. In the method, an injection nozzle device is utilized, which has an entrapping or catching element provided at the nozzle portion thereof. Prior to the foaming process, the nozzle portion of injection nozzle device is inserted via the opening into the interior of trim cover assembly in a first direction, and then drawn in a second direction opposite to the first direction, thereby causing the opening to be closed positively by the catching element, to prevent leakage of the liquid base foaming material from the opening. Further, at least one extension may be formed at the opening, which extends continuously from the trim cover assembly into the interior of the latter, so that such at least one extension may be caught by the catching element for the purpose of positively closing the opening against the leakage of liquid base foaming material therethrough.

    • A headrest to be installed to a seat back of an automotive seat. The headrest comprises a generally bag-shaped outer skin including a surface section which has first and second end edge portions. The first end edge portion includes a first part integral with the surface section, and a second part integral with the first part and generally parallel with the surface section. A slit is defined between the first part of the first end edge portion and the second end edge portion. The headrest is produced by a process including the following steps: (a) bending the first end edge portion inward of the surface section so that the second part of the first end edge portion is generally parallel with the surface section; (b) forming first insertion holes in the second part of the first end edge portion and second insertion holes in the surface section; (b) inserting headrest stays of a frame inside the bag-shaped outer skin through the slit formed; (d) inserting each headrest stay into each first insertion hole and each second insertion hole so that the head rest stay is projected out of the surface section; (e) disposing the bag-shaped outer skin inside a foaming-fabrication mold; and (f) pouring a raw material of a foam material through the slit into the bag-shaped outer skin so that the second end edge portion is brought into contact with the first part of the first end edge portion so as to tightly close the slit.

    • A nozzle located in an injection mold for injecting a first medium into a mold cavity containing a second medium. The injection molding has a first bore connected to a first mold surface via a second bore. An outer blowing needle having a first terminal end is located within the first and second bores. An inner blowing needle having a second terminal end is located within the outer blowing needle and has at least one opening near the second terminal end which communicates with the second bore. The inner blowing needle is axially displaced relative to the outer blowing needle and the first and second bores of the injection mold via a stop-spring arrangement such that the second terminal end of the inner blowing needle moves from a first position even with the first terminal end of the outer blowing needle to a second position located between the opposed first and second mold surfaces and back to the first position, to allow the first medium to be injected into the second medium when the second terminal end is in the second position. The inner and outer blowing needles are axially displaced relative to the first and second bores when the second terminal end is moved back to the first position via a stop spring arrangement such that the second terminal end of the inner blowing needle and the terminal end of the outer blowing needle are moved to a third position even with the first mold surface to ensure a smooth and seamless mold cavity.

    • The mixing head is provided with a flow restrictor 5 which can be driven into the mixing chamber 2 downstream of the inlet orifices 3, and whose front face (for 6) is matched to the contour of the mixing chamber to avoid leaving any space here which cannot be purged by the purging plunger. When the flow restrictor is pushed forward into its working or restricting position, it is simultaneously rotated, the extent of rotation being no more than 90.degree. by the time the restricting position has been reached. This makes it possible to drive the flow restrictor much further into the mixing chamber than when no rotation is effected. The tongues or projections 6 produced as a result of matching the front face to the contour of the mixing chamber only come into contact with the sections of the mixing chamber wall which are opposite the flow restrictor. The flow restrictor can be pushed in an appropriate distance, making it possible to achieve a good restricting effect and therefore to exert a corresponding great influence on the mixing procedure or on the discharge characteristics.
