    • An electrode for an electrochemical machining process is provided. The electrode comprises a curved, electrically conductive member, and an insulating coating covering at least a portion of a side surface of the curved, electrically conductive member. An electrochemical machining assembly is also provided for machining curved holes in a workpiece. The assembly includes at least one curved electrode and a power supply operatively connected to provide a pulsed voltage to the at least one curved electrode and to the workpiece. The assembly further includes a rotational driver operatively connected to move the at least one curved electrode along a curved path within the workpiece. The assembly is configured to remove material from the workpiece upon application of the pulsed voltage to the at least one curved electrode and to the workpiece. An electrochemical machining method is also provided for forming one or more curved holes in an electrically conductive workpiece.

    • The invention relates to a method for manufacturing hollow spaces (5) in metallic workpieces (1), especially in fuel injectors for diesel engines with at least one main bore (3) and at least one supply bore (4), especially for fuel supply, wherein at least one electrode (2) is introduced into the main bore (3) and the hollow space (5) and/or the connection to the supply bore (4) is formed by means of an electrolytic erosion process. It is the object of the invention to provide a method by which the use of an additional washing process can be eliminated. The object upon which the invention is based is solved in that the supply bore (4) is flushed at least temporarily with electrolyte.

    • An electrode tool for the electrochemical machining of metal components, such as the cavities of internal combustion engine valves, is adapted for mounting on a machine tool mandrel and comprises a shaft upon which a flexible, elongate electrode is axially slidable, and which defines axially a conduit for conveying electrolytic fluid to the workpiece. The working end of the tool is constituted by a releasable electrode guide head which defines a part-circularly-curved electrode guide passage and the end portions of the conduit. The guide passage guides the axial sliding of the electrode so that an end portion of the latter projects radially relative to the axis of the tool by an angle determined by the radius of curvature of the passage. The guide head is interchangeable with at least one other guide head having a passage with a different radius of curvature.
