    • The invention relates to a press driven work tool module comprising a power unit and a work unit. Each unit comprises a fluid filled cylinder, a piston for reciprocation therein, and a piston rod. Hydraulic fluid within the power stroke displacement space of the power cylinder is in communication with hydraulic fluid in the work displacement space of the work cylinder, and hydraulic fluid within the return displacement space of the power cylinder is in communication with hydraulic fluid within the return stroke displacement space of the work cylinder. The power cylinder is provided with a moving top plate connected to the power piston rod and a spring arrangement for urging the top plate and power piston rod to the return position, such that a drive force acting on the power piston rod moves the power piston and work piston to the power and work ends of the respective cylinders against the spring bias. The system is hydraulic and eliminates the need for pressurized gas, avoiding problems such as contamination, worn seals, loss of pressure over time, and need for recharging.

    • The disclosed hammer comprises a power frame, having a working chamber for the deforming medium, a die block adapted to accommodate therein a blank and an impact head with a housing having fastened therein a hollow separating bush coaxial with the housing. Received concentrically within this bush is a sleeve enclosing a plunger mounted in this sleeve for vertical reciprocation, to define a working cylinder between the top end face of the plunger and the bottom of the sleeve. An annular space is defined by the housing of the impact head and the body of the separating bush, surrounding the working cylinder and communicating with the hydraulic hammer control system. The essence of the invention consists in that the working chamber for the deforming medium, has a built-in container having a bottom made of an elastic material. The container is mounted for cooperation of its bottom with the blank accommodated in the die block. In its turn, the die block is mounted for horizontal reciprocation, so that the blank can be placed thereupon outside the working chamber, whereafter the die block can be fed together with the blank to underlie the bottom of the container; the die block being also adjustable in a vertical plane to ensure a sealing engagement with the bottom of the container. The advantage of the present invention consists in higher efficiency of the disclosed hammer, as compared with the hitherto known hammers of a similar type.

    • A counterstroke hammer in which two rams are moving towards one another until they come into contact along guides scured to a frame. The rams are accelerated by a drive provided with a plunger and a cylinder moving with respect to the frame and both rams in the direction of their movement. The drive cylinder is connected to one of the rams through tie-rods to effect simultaneous interaction when an acceleration force is imparted. The cylinder and its ram is then disconnected from the system in order to ensure the ram movement free from the action of the drive. The drive plunger is adapted to contact the other ram during the transmission of the acceleration force and is disconnected from said contact after the acceleration, for effecting the ram movement free from the drive action. The impact interaction of the rams takes place with the drive disconnected and hence the kinetic energy thus obtained is damped, while the kinetic energy of the cylinder and plunger is damped independently of the rams.
