摘要： The present invention relates to aspects of securing holding jaws in nail machines, including a method, a machine, a tool ring and a holding jaw for such purposes. The novel aspects of the invention include that holding jaws are secured to a tool ring in a manner where a number of immovably secured passive fittings are used as well as a number of active fittings. It is hereby ensured that holding jaws may be e.g. replaced without loosening many other holding jaws, and that the holding jaws may be placed very precisely and in a manner, which is repeatable. It is also ensured that the holding jaws may be effectively and easily secured. The passive fittings will each provide at least one fix point from where one or more holding jaws may be lined up, in a manner where the interdependency between the secured holding jaws is reduced, whereby a larger degree of precision is obtained, also when a high number of holding jaws are involved, and also when the distance between the jaws are identical along the entire circumference of the tool ring.

The invention provides uniform well-bonded fasteners in a clip for use in a pneumatic or manual nailer, the clips being adhesive-free. In addition, this invention provides a method and apparatus for manufacturing such adhesive-free clips by press-forming the fasteners, placing them in proper orientation in a fixture on a rotatable turret rotating the turret to a spot welding location, spot welding the fasteners, and rotating the turret to a clip unloading station. The clip product is also disclosed.

摘要： Nails having radially offset, circular heads are manufactured from a malleable wire. The wire is clamped so that a leading portion extends axially from a clamping mechanism. The extending portion is bent at an acute angle relative to a clamping axis. The extending portion is cut so as to form a pointed end thereon and so as to leave a bent stub extending at such an angle. Such a nail head is formed from the stub, which is pressed by a punch into a cavity defined by the clamping mechanism, and which is deformed when pressed thereinto. The cavity has a fully circular, offset margin. The punch has a face covering the cavity. Once released, the wire is fed axially until a leading portion extends as before. These operations are repeated to form a similar nail in each repetition. A novel apparatus for carrying out these operations is disclosed.

摘要： Apparatus and a method for making nails with flat circular heads and a shank of a noncircular cross-sectional shape and the method comprises: unwinding drawn wire from a roll of wire and advancing the wire by an intermittent drive means; passing the wire through guide means to provide a straight length of wire; engaging a portion of the wire with die means to form a cylindrical portion on the wire having a circular cross-sectional shape and a length substantially sufficient to form the head of the nail; feeding the wire into a nail-making machine wherein the head is formed from the cylindrical portion and shearing the nail off at the end of the shank to form the nail.
