摘要： A device combines skin tissue cooling and microdermabrasion and includes: a source of ice crystals; a mechanism for propelling the ice crystals at a plurality of velocities; a controller, the controller being programmable to increase or decrease the velocity of the propelled ice crystals; the controller controls the velocity of the ice crystals to range from low speed to impinge upon and cool the skin tissue to a higher velocity to cause microdermabrasion of the skin tissue.

摘要： According to some embodiments, a skin treatment assembly comprises a handpiece comprising a distal end, the handpiece comprising a recess or cavity configured to receive a cartridge or other fluid container, a tip configured to be positioned along the distal end of the handpiece, the tip being configured to contact a skin surface of a subject during use, and at least one rollerball configured to extend to or near the tip, wherein the rollerball is configured to be in fluid communication with an interior of a cartridge or other fluid container secured to the handpiece, wherein the at least one rollerball is configured to contact the skin surface of the subject during use and to facilitate the delivery of fluids to said skin surface as the rollerball is moved relative to said skin surface.

摘要： An instrument and technique for the removal of epidermal layers in a controlled manner utilizing a hand-held instrument with a working end that (i) a vacuum aspiration system, (ii) a source for delivery of a sterile fluids or pharmacological agents to the skin; and (iii) a skin interface surface in the working end that has specially shape structure for abrading surface layers of the patient's epidermis as the working end is moved over the patient's skin while at the same time causing rapid penetration of the fluids into the skin for therapeutic purposes. Movement of the working end across the skin causes abrasion of the surface layers in a path over the patient's skin.

The device has a suction path (11) along which skin fragments removed by the device are drawn, and a detection unit (3) configured to determine one or more characteristics of skin fragments drawn along the suction path. The detection unit is configured to determine the depth of abrasion performed by the device based on the one or more characteristics of skin fragments drawn along the suction path. The present application also relates to a method of determining the operating depth of abrasion of a microdermabrasion device.

摘要： A device, system and method for treatment of tissue by direct application thereto of therapeutic substances in the form of a stream of therapeutic droplets carried in a high velocity gas. The high velocity gas is produced by accelerating a flow of gas through at least one gas discharge nozzle. At least one flow of therapeutic liquid is introduced into the high velocity gas through at least one liquid discharge nozzle, thereby fragmenting the at least one flow of therapeutic liquid into a stream of therapeutic droplets. The stream is accelerated to a velocity similar to the velocity of the gas discharge flow. The accelerated therapeutic droplet stream is then applied to a tissue mass for therapeutic treatment. The therapeutic substances are provided by containers mounted directly on the device. The containers contain predefined dosages and/or concentrations of the therapeutic substances.
