摘要： A snowshoe including a unitary molded polymer deck having a bottom surface defining a toe portion and a heel portion. The toe portion is divided from the heel portion. A toe panel together with the toe portion defines a generally enclosed space into which a lighting module including a battery, a switch; electrical leads and at least one electrically illuminated light source. The light module is substantially contained in the enclosed space and the at least one electrically illuminated light source is located in at least one light source pocket that passes through a portion of the unitary molded polymer deck such that the electrically illuminated light source is visible from above the deck. The switch selectively completes a circuit between the battery and the electrically illuminated light source upon actuation.

摘要： A traction device for a boot has a felt platform with a toe section and a heel section, and a heel extension attached to the heel section. Cording passes through two pairs of passages in the toe section and in the heel extension, passing from a toe section passage to a heel extension passage to form a side stringer on each side; the cords extending forward from the heel extension pass through loops on the side stringers and are then cinched to tighten the cording against the boot. To better wrap the device about the boot, the toe section passages can be positioned on ear extensions that protrude from a body of the felt platform. Wing extensions protruding from the heel extension can be provided, with heel extension passages through which the cording passes to aid in wrapping the heel extension about the boot.

摘要： A modular snow travel system for common footwear includes a first traction component which may be an overboot. The first traction component includes at least one traction cleat having latch, such as an exposed hook portion, for engagement with a snowdeck. The engagement is effected by a releasable locking mechanism on the snowdeck. The releasable locking mechanism includes a transversely movable slider and a longitudinally movable slider having contacting cam faces. The lateral position of the transverse slider determines the longitudinal position of the longitudinal slider so that the longitudinal slider could be moved longitudinally to and from a position where a catch on the longitudinal slider is engaged in the hook portion or is disengaged from the latch of the traction cleat.
