摘要： Methods and systems are described for providing a local electrical power source at a header of a combine harvester. An alternator is mechanically coupled to a header backshaft. The header backshaft is mechanically coupled to a drive mechanism of the combine harvester to cause rotation of the header backshaft which, in turn, causes the alternator to generate electrical power. A power supply circuit transferred electrical power from the alternator to one or more electric devices mounted on the header. In some implementations, the header does not include any physical cables between the combine and the header.

摘要： A harvester row unit includes first and second deck plates having first and second stripping edges which are facing and spaced apart for defining a stalk gap therebetween, first and second gathering chains extending over the deck plates and comprising a plurality of sweeping lugs which traverse adjacent to and along the stalk gap, and one or more kernel brushes secured to the sweeping lugs by fasteners. The kernel brushes can include brush bodies, sweeping portions secured to the brush bodies, and mounting blocks. The sweeping lugs can include lug walls wherein the brush bodies and mounting blocks sandwich the lug walls. Preferably, the kernel brushes are secured to the sweeping lugs by nuts and bolts, and the brush bodies and/or mounting blocks include fastener bores adapted to receive the bolts and fastener slots adapted receive and align the nuts with the fastener bores.

The draper is guided at its front edge by a longitudinally extending rail mounted on the frame for movement therewith. The cutter bar is mounted on the frame at spaced positions by spring blades attached to a fixed beam at the rear which allow up and down flexing movement of the cutter bar relative to the draper engagement member. At the center discharge the cutter bar is carried on shorter blades which are carried on a beam in front of the front draper roller. The small amount of flexing of the cutter bar combines with a balanced three piece header frame to provide effective ground following.

The detasseling assembly structured and operable to detassel the plants in a single row of plants in a test plot as the detasseler system is moved through the test plot. The detasseling assembly comprises a head assembly comprising a carrier bar connected to the lift assembly, a cutter head disposed at a first distal end of the carrier bar, and a puller head disposed at an opposing second distal end of the carrier bar. The detasseling assembly additionally comprises a sensor boom fixedly connected at a proximal end to the lift assembly, and an angled sensor bar assembly connected to sensor boom. The angled sensor bar assembly comprises an sensor bar connected to the sensor boom at an angle such that a non-orthogonal angle is defined between the sensor bar and the sensor boom; and a sensor system connected to the angle sensor bar, the sensor system structured and operable to detect the presence of a plant with a sensing field of the sensor system.

A swather is coupled to the sub-frame and arranged rearward relative to the mower cutter bar. A deflector is disposed between the cutter bar and the mower cutter bar. The deflector is moveable between a raised position in which the deflector permits crop material cut by the mower cutter bar to pass onto the swather, and a lowered position in which the deflector inhibits crop material cut by the mower cutter bar from passing onto the swather.

摘要： A header assembly for a harvesting machine comprising a primary cutter head for cutting the crop, and a feeder for feeding the cut crop into the mouth of a crop processing mechanism. The assembly further comprises a secondary scissor-action cutter head trailing behind the primary cutter head for cutting stalks left behind by the primary cutter head, the secondary cutter head coupled to the rear of the header and supported by ground engaging rollers. The rollers include at least one support cylinder having a circumferentially discontinuous ground engaging outer surface operative to perform a preliminary processing of at least one of the crop residue and the soil.
