摘要： An ester-terminated dimer acid-based polyamide may be blended with a solvent to form a gel. The solvent may be flammable, and a wick may be added to the resulting gel so as to form a candle. Depending on the composition, the candle may be formed into a free standing pillar, or may be better suited to being placed in a container. The solvent may be mineral oil. A solid coating may be placed around the candle, for advantages including to enhance the mechanical stability of the gelled body, and to eliminate the tendency of a gel to have an oily feel and to accept noticeable fingerprints. The solvent which, in combination with the ester-terminated dimer acid-based polymer forms a gel, may be or include a fragrance material, an insecticide or an insect repellent. A wick may or may not be present in this gel, but in any event, the composition provides for the release of the fragrance, insecticide or insect-repellent.

The present invention further provides a method of reducing fouling of a membrane having a concentrate side subject to a concentrate pressure (Pc) and a permeate side subject to permeate pressure (Pp), comprising periodically raising an initial permeate pressure (Pp.sub.0) to an increased permeate pressure (Pp.sub.1). Additionally, the present invention provides an improved apparatus for filtering a fluid and methods of reducing membrane fouling in a separation membrane using the apparatus, the improved apparatus comprising a feed inlet having a pump, a filtering apparatus, a concentrate line and a permeate line, the improvement comprising:on the feed inlet, a first gauge for measuring pressure and a controller for controlling pressure of the fluid passing through the feed inlet pump or for controlling the speed of the feed inlet pump;on the permeate line, a second gauge for measuring pressure and a pressure controller for controlling pressure of the fluid passing through the permeate line; andon the concentrate line, a third gauge for measuring pressure of the fluid passing through the concentrate line.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a one piece trapezoidal carton with an inner partition for packaging an article. The one piece trapezoidal carton with an inner partition comprises a trapezoidal carton section having (a) trapezoidal front and back wall panels; (b) first and second trapezoidal side wall panels connecting the front and back wall panels; (c) a rectangular bottom panel closing the bottom of the carton; (d) a rectangular top panel including a top closing flap for closing the top of the carton; and (e) a trapezoidal glueable side panel, having a first and second side, attached to the inside of the first side wall panel. The first side of the trapezoidal glueable side panel extends from the back wall panel. The one piece trapezoidal carton with an inner partition also comprises an inner partition section having (a) a trapezoidal center partition; (b) a pair of trapezoidal cradling partitions, each extending from a side of the center partition; (c) first and second trapezoidal supporting partitions, each extending from a side of one of the trapezoidal cradling partitions; and (d) a trapezoidal glueable partition, attached to the inside of the second side wall panel, extending from a side of the second trapezoidal supporting partition. A side of the first trapezoidal supporting partition in the inner partition section extends from the second side of the trapezoidal glueable side panel in the trapezoidal carton section to form the one piece carton. The present invention is also directed to a one piece blank of foldable sheet material cut and scored so that it is divided into a series of connected wall forming panels which when assembled provides the inventive one piece trapezoidal carton with an inner partition for packaging an article.

摘要： Solid compositions containing diamidediurethanes are useful as components of hot-melt inks. Diamidiurethanes may be prepared by reaction of a hydroxycarboxylic acid and/or lactone with either (1) monoamine and diisocyanate or (2) diamine and monoisocyanate. Alternatively, the diamidediurethane may be prepared by reacting a non-hydric carboxylic acid and/or anhydride with an hydroxyamine and a diisocyanate. The reactant identity and stoichiometry, as well as the reaction conditions, may be tailored to optimize the formation of diamidediurethane in preference to high molecular weight oligomers. The hot-melt inks may be used in ink jet, flexographic, gravure and intaglio printing.

摘要： A method of making a factory end for a bag assembly, in which a removable plastic bag will be contained within a protective outer bag, includes steps of providing a tube assembly having a plastic inner tube within an outer tube; sealing one end of the plastic inner tube so as to be closed at said one end; and closing the outer tube about the closed one end of the inner tube in such a manner that no plastic material from said inner tube is permanently affixed to the outer tube, whereby the outer tube may be efficiently recycled or incinerated after it is separated from the inner tube by a consumer. The bag assembly itself is disclosed as a separate aspect of the invention. Methods for making the tube assemblies are also disclosed.
