摘要： A sump-riser performing as a collection sump, as a riser for the corresponding tank and as a means for secondary containment for the tank's submersible pump, manway, and fittings. The sump-riser comprises a generally cylindrical sump base with an upright annular lip extending upwardly from an upper support surface; an extension riser including a lower annular riser lip which fits over and round the lip of the sump base; a cover for the extension riser; and an access or observation lid. The riser extension is detachable or removable from the sump base and may be inverted and inserted into the sump base for compact shipping. Score lines may be provided on the riser extension to serve as cutting guides for proper sizing and the sump base may be multi-sided to provide flat walls for accurate hole drilling for pipe and conduit entry.

摘要： A reducer seal assembly for providing a fluid-tight through-wall fitting. The seal includes a substantially rigid tubular supporting member having a flange extending radially about one edge. The flange and the interior of the supporting member are covered with resilient material. The supporting member is externally threaded so that a nut may be joined thereto. The resilient member coating the flange of the support member may be curved to conform to a convex wall surface. The resilient member extends beyond the supporting member for connection about a conduit extending through the wall. The assembly is connectable to a wall by first inserting the support member through a wall from the exterior side and then the nut is applied to the threaded portion of the support member to the extent that the resilient coating has compressed to form a fluid-tight seal between the coating and the exterior wall surface. A hose clamp is applied about the resilient material extending through the support member for providing a compression fitting against the conduit.

摘要： A sump riser apparatus for a pipeline system includes a hollow sump base including a upstanding annular portion disposed on an upward surface thereof in surrounding relation to an opening formed in that surface. A hollow detachable riser extension is mounted on the sump base and is of a size and shape, relative to the sump base, such that, when the riser extension is inverted, the riser extension can be received within the sump base for storage therein during transportation of the parts. The riser extension includes a cover and an annular step portion at the base thereof which fits over and around the upstanding annular portion of the sump base. The step portion is of a size and shape relative to the cover so as to enable receipt of the cover therein when the riser extension is inverted.

摘要： A double wall pipeline is provided for a pumping system for fluid products, such as gasoline, diesel fuel and chemicals, and including a pump for pumping such products from a storage tank through the pipeline to a product dispenser. The double wall pipeline comprises a double wall, an inner primary pipe, an outer secondary pipe spaced from and surrounding the primary pipe, and integral spokes or spacers for supporting the secondary pipe in spaced relation to the primary pipe so as to create an annular space therebetween. The ends of some of the secondary pipe sections are stripped or cut back so as to terminate short of the corresponding end of the primary pipe and thereby permit testing and inspection of the primary pipe prior to completion of a secondary piping system in which the secondary pipe is incorporated. Unique primary and secondary fittings are provided as well as an air test clamp assembly for testing the integrity of the primary pipe and a collection sump fitting incorprated in the pipeline to permit the location of a leak to be visually determined.

摘要： An underground secondary containment system that is preassembled to a large extent at a manufacturing site prior to shipping to the site of installation. In this manner, the time expended at the site of installation in installing the underground secondary containment system is reduced. The underground secondary containment system includes a double walled fuel storage tank having isolated adjoining compartments for storing two different grades of fuel. A pair of dispenser sumps are mounted on the fuel storage tank at opposite ends thereof. A pair of tank sumps are mounted on the fuel storage tanks above the corresponding compartments. Each tank sump is connected to each of the dispenser sumps via flexible piping which extends along the exterior of the fuel storage tank. In this manner, two different grades of gasoline can be provided to each dispenser without utilizing piping disposed internally of the fuel storage tanks. The provision of separate tank sumps which are not located below above ground dispenser units permits ready access to the pump and associated fittings.

摘要： This invention includes repair of an existing underground sump without the need for costly and time consuming excavation. A plurality of liner-forming pieces are placed inside the underground sump to create a liner preferably substantially conforming to the interior dimensions of the sump. The pieces are joined together to form a unitary containment shell by first taping and then using fiberglass cloth and fiberglass resin. A layer of gel-coat is applied to the surface of the shell to create a fluidtight containment chamber within the sump. Some of the liner-forming pieces can have openings formed therein to accommodate the pipe entries corresponding to those in the sump.
