摘要： Product discharge section of a stuffing apparatus for partially filling food casings is equipped with a device for uniformly distributing and reshaping meat emulsions and other foodstuffs from a rounded configuration to other desired shapes, such as loaf style products for use in preparing turkey loaf, ham loaf, etc. Lower receiving conveyor means transport partially filled casings downstream to a wedge shaped slot defined by the lower conveyor and height and angle adjustable overhead belt which during passage extrudes the flowable meat product upstream toward the filling horn for uniformly apportioning and shaping the product before cooking, smoking or other processing. Methods and apparatus are especially useful in eliminating the need for shaping by hand, or use of loaf shaped molds.

摘要： The invention comprises a package comprising 50 shirred essentially cylindrically shaped shirred food casing strands. The strands are oriented in the package such that longitudinal axes of the strands are parallel. Within the package external surfaces of the strands contact external surfaces of adjacent strands and ends of the strands terminate in approximately the same plane. In a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axes of the strands, lines passing through the central axes of strands located proximate the external surface of the package intersect to form a hexagon. Strands internally within the package, i.e., which would not have an exteriorly exposed surface if a wrap for the package were removed, contact six adjacent strands. The package consists of nine strand rows. The first row contains four strands. The second row contains five strands. The third row contains six strands and the fourth row contains seven strands. The fifth row is the center row and contains six strands. The sixth row contains seven strands. The seventh row contains six strands. The eighth row contains five strands and the ninth row contains four strands. The package has a retaining means, usually a package wrap, for securing the strands within the package in the previously described orientation.

摘要： Prestuck food casing films are made with an apparatus having a perforating roll with multiple knife blades. The perforating roll is linked to a power roll so the casing being pulled through the apparatus drives the power roll which turns the perforating roll to perforate the film. The power roll and the perforating roll turn at the same peripheral speed so any change in velocity of the advancing film automatically adjusts the speed of the perforating roll eliminating tears or enlargement of perforations.
