    • An electro-photographic printing device has a development location where toner is transferred onto a drum in proportion to the amount of light charges on the drum and a transfer location where toner is transferred from the drum to a sheet of paper. A heater unit for fixing the toner by heating it to a predetermined temperature has a heater and a blower for heat removal. Responsive to a call for printing, data to be printed are stored in a memory. The heater is energized until a set temperature is obtained. Printing is initiated as soon as the set temperature is obtained. The blower is stopped after heating has been discontinued, after printing has been completed, until there is a new call.

    • A dial needle is mounted on a drive shaft of a measuring instrument. The dle includes a body and a support, both mounted on the drive shaft. The body and the support are initially connected in a one-piece construction in which the body is spaced axially from the support. Upon axially moving the body along the shaft to the support, weakened zones break, thereby detaching the body from the support. A pointer on the body is angularly turnable to an indexed position by a peripheral projection and a complementary recess provided on the support and the body.

    • A low-cost pendular non-serviced accelerometer comprises a base, a pendular seismic mass connected to the base by a hinged connection for pivotal movement of the seismic mass about an axis along a sense direction perpendicular to the hinged connection and a sensor connecting the seismic mass to the base. The sensor comprises at least two vibrating beams of piezo-electric material, each connected to the base at an end thereof and to the seismic mass at the other end thereof, and each provided with electrodes for vibrating the respective beam at a tuning frequency thereof. The beams are directed orthogonally to the sense axis and are located symmetrically with respect to the seismic mass on both sides of the hinged connection, whereby any acceleration along the sense axis creates tractive stresses in one beam and compression stresses in the other beam. A circuit connected to the electrodes and is arranged for delivering a signal which is responsive to the difference between the resonant frequencies of the two beams when the seismic mass is subjected to an acceleration.

    • A microprocessor memory safeguard device comprising a switch having two it terminals and a common terminal. The common terminal is connected to a first terminal of the memory and to the logic zero of the microprocessor. The other input terminal of the switch is connected to one terminal of a battery. The second terminal of the memory is connected to the other terminal of the battery. The second input terminal of the switch is connected to an initialization line of the processor whose initialization input is also connected to the line. The initialization line is connected directly to a power supply source. The initialization line could also be a data bus interconnecting a plurality of microprocessors.
