摘要： The information distribution system is a self-contained automatic interface unit for connecting an information receiver such as a FAX machine to an information and retrieval system on a predetermined schedule to obtain a predetermined set of information selected by the user. Programming of the interface unit by the user allows selection of schedule and information desired from an updated database source such as a stock quotation reporting system. Alteration of the selected times and desired information by the user through reprogramming of the interface unit allows the user to obtain only the desired information and allows autonomous operation of the information distribution system.

The auxiliary data includes musical selection identification such as title, artist and album name. Receiver circuits are disclosed for displaying the auxiliary data, for selecting and storing the data along with a portion of the musical selecting which it identifies, and for recalling the stored data and musical selection portion. Transmitter circuits are disclosed for transmitting the auxiliary data without using the SCA portion of the broadcast band. Also disclosed are apparatus and methods for automatically generating the auxiliary data using a compact disc player.

摘要： Bosom-support garments such as brassieres reduce lymph flow interference by providing a pattern of alternating higher and lower skin-compression areas which are configured to follow the direction of the lymph pathways in the various sectors of the breast, side, and/or back areas of the wearer. Preferably the areas of lower skin compression do not actually touch the skin, and the width of and spacing of the pattern may be varied at different areas of the garment to accommodate the comfort of the wearer and to optimize the flow of lymph. The pattern may be defined by elongated ribs of relatively higher density material formed through weaving, compression molding, or other appropriate processes. Such ribs preferably extend generally away from the nipple area of the breast so that the pattern corresponds to lymph drainage pathways leading to the axillary or subclavicular nodes, to an intercostal space, or to a plurality or all of the above. The pattern may be defined by pockets or cells at least partially filled with a solid, a liquid, or a gas. As an alternative to elongated ribs, the pattern may be defined by localized, semi-rigid regions operative to massage the lymph drainage pathways when the garment is worn. As one example of many, such regions may be in the form of semi-rigid members disposed at an angle relative to the skin and terminating in skin-contacting points, causing the application of a generally upward force when the garment is worn. In particular, upward arm and shoulder motion as a result of normal body movement during the day causes the shoulder straps to periodically pull up on the outer wall of the fabric, which causes the semi-rigid members or "fingers" to press against and slide upward along the inner wall, thereby exerting a generally upward force on the wearer's skin. This force gently massages the lymph ducts, helping to push the lymph fluid in a desired upward direction.

摘要： A system for sending selected up-to-date information in a television signal from a sender located at a network head-end or television station to a receiver co-located with a television viewer. The television viewer subscribes to an information service by telephoning a customer service center affiliated with the sender. The customer service center informs the sender of the subscription and the sender sends data packets of information individually targeted for the television viewer in the vertical blanking interval of the television signal. The television viewer's receiver accepts the data packets identified for it and on viewer command displays information included therein on the television screen. The data packets may include information relating to news, sports results, financial market updates, television programming guides, and the like. Information is displayed to the viewer in a menu format, allowing for ease of use in controlling presentation of various types of information.

In another embodiment the apparatus includes a signal splitter for splitting a first input signal and providing a first and second output, the second output coupled to and providing the first video source into the notch filter.

One embodiment is a method for providing information to a user from an information depository. The method includes the steps of reproducing in the vicinity of each of a plurality of users, programs from one of a plurality of broadcast stations, recording upon command by a user, an identification of a station and a time of a program on the station for which supplemental information is desired by the user, entering the recorded station identification and time into one of a plurality of information exchange terminals, coupling the information exchange terminal to the information depository to transmit information therebetween; and identifying a correspondence between the entered station identification and time and a program in a station log to obtain the desired supplemental information. The method additionally includes the steps of compiling a station log of stations, program times, and program identifiers for programs on the stations and mapping the program identifiers in the log to supplemental information relating to specific programs.

An FM transmitter broadcasts a composite signal that combines the analog output of the music source with the subcarrier signal. A lyric display unit receives the composite signal, separates and decodes the subcarrier signal and displays and highlights lyrics according the lyric text data and lyric timing commands decoded from the subcarrier signal.
