    • A removable bird feeding bowl has an upper lip and a circumferential locking surface which is spaced below the upper lip. According to a first embodiment, the locking surface includes two diametrically opposed detents spaced below the upper lip of the bowl. The bowl may be used with an existing supporting ring by snapping the bowl into the ring. According to a second embodiment, the locking surface includes a helical ridge having the form of a screw thread. The bowl may be used with an existing supporting ring by placing the bottom of the bowl into the ring until the helical ridge engages the ring and then twisting the bowl so that the helical ridge makes a screw-like connection with the supporting ring. The upper lip of the bowl stops the bowl from rotating through the ring. According to a third embodiment, a removable bird feeding bowl and support ring assembly is provided. The bowl is substantially the same as the first embodiment and the ring is provided with a pair of diametrically opposed cut-outs which allow the detents on the bowl to pass through the ring. The bowl is placed in the ring by aligning the detents with the cutouts. When the upper lip of bowl contacts the ring, the bowl is rotated so the detents are move out of alignment with the cut-outs and thereby prevent the bowl from being lifted out of the ring.

    • The medium and liners of a water resistant containerboard are each essentially completely impregnated by a liquid water resistant agent which also uniformly coats the surfaces of the medium and liners with a layer sufficiently thick to cover the outer extremities of fibers protruding from such surfaces.The coating and impregnation is accomplished by feeding a flat untreated corrugated containerboard in the direction of its open flutes and in a continuous movement into and out of a hot melt bath of the water resistant agent at a controlled speed sufficient to force the liquid agent through the flutes of the containerboard, so as to assure exposure of all surface portions of the board to the hot melt for the same amount of time at the same temperature conditions. Upon removal of the board from the hot bath, the board is moved to a position with its leading edge uppermost to drain excess liquid agent from the board, which is then moved to a horizontal position to stabilize the depth of the liquid surface coating by the agent and then to a vertical position with the trailing edge uppermost to reverse the direction of final drainage while the board is cooled to solidity the agent.

    • The invention is a multiglazed window and a spacer element for the window. The spacer element is made in the form of an elongated body member of generally rectangular cross section. This has an elongated interior chamber located along its longitudinal axis. The chamber is partitioned by a flexible diaphragm into two separate chambers. One of these chambers is in communication through longitudinally spaced-apart apertures with the interior volume of the window. The other chamber is in communication through similar apertures with the outside environment. the diaphragm is preferably of S-shaped configuration having a cross sectional length which corresponds to half of the circumference of the interior chamber. As pressure changes occur between the gas within the window and the outside environment the diaphragm will reform to accommodate the resulting volume change. This maintains equal interior and exterior pressures preventing glass deformation. The spacer element may be a unitary extrusion or it may be a fabrication of separate body portions with a flexible diaphragm that could be of a different material.

    • A method and apparatus for illuminating rotating wheels are described. The device requires no external power and relies on the rotation of the wheeled power generator located in the hub cap or other mounting area of the wheel. Construction comprises a coil having an axis of rotation, the coil being substantially on the axis of the wheel so that when the wheel rotates, the coil rotates similarly. A magnet is mounted around the coil in such a manner that it is self orienting. This is achieved by means of an asymmetric weight which is of sufficient dimensions and weight so as to counteract the rotational tendencies of the structure to which it is rotatably mounted. In a preferred embodiment, the weight is attached to the magnet by one or more elongated members incorporating compression means which absorb transitory vibrations experienced by the weight during the vehicle's movement. The present invention may find application in road vehicles, although application has also been found in railway wagons and the like.
