    • Adjusting and fixing device for seats, like automobile seats, in particular for the adjustment of the back rest. For the adjustment of the back rest vis-a-vis the seat part a fixed mounting is arranged at the seat part. This fixed mounting is joined with an adjustable mounting for the back rest transferring the adjusting movement over a gearing drivable by means of a cam section, defining the position of these mountings related to each other. The gearing includes a radial tooth wheel belonging to a mounting and an internal gear rim of the other mounting catching into the first one, whereby counter toothings are arranged at the mountings. The cam section is formed by two wedge segments inclined against each other and encompassing the bearing point of the adjustable mounting regionally. The wedge sections are wrapped around by the bearing point of the fixed mounting, whereby the narrow sides of the wedge segments can be charged by the arm of a driver designed as a bush, whereas a force accumulator pressing the wedge away from each other for radial play reduction catches between the broad sides of the wedge segments. For the prevention of the afflux of the mounting joined with the back rest during a time period marked by vibration and impacts and dynamic operational conditions a locking ring is arranged in the radial plane between the wedge segments and the driver. This locking ring contains at its outer periphery at least one check nose, which can catch into the counter toothing of the fixed mounting. This check nose is held in the engaged position in the counter toothing by a spring element supporting itself at the bearing points of the fixed mounting, this spring element being incident to the locking ring. The check nose, however, can be driven out of the counter toothing by stops of the driver during the rotational movement of the same.

    • The stationary articulated part of the articulated fitting is connected at its front end with the seat part so as to be rotatable via a swivel axle. The rear end region cooperates with a stop which is fixed at the seat part. A catch hook which is articulated at the stationary articulated part so as to be swivelable engages the stop and a locking arrangement has an actuating lever which is supported at the stationary articulated part so as to be rotatable and which is spring-loaded in the locking direction. The actuating lever communicates with a locking cam which secures the catch hook. A control arm contacting the stop is held under pretensioning by the spring element which acts upon the actuating lever in the locking direction. In the release position of the catch hook, the actuating lever is held by the catch lever in a releasable manner. In order to reduce the releasing force, the locking cam, which is swivelably supported at the stationary articulated part, supports the actuating lever, which is designed as a switching plate, on an axle stub. The switching plate engages around the pin, which is fixed at the articulated part, by means of a curved elongated hole and contacts, via a support cam, a support pin which is fixed with respect to the articulated part. The switching plate can be brought into contact, via a driver face, with a release projection of the locking cam on the one hand and, on the other hand, has a locking driver for the locking cam.

    • Articulated fitting for seats having an adjustable backrest, in particular motor vehicle seats. The articulated fitting has an articulated part which is stationary with respect to the seat part and a swivelable articulated part associated with the backrest, these articulated parts being connected with one another via a swivel axle. The position of the two articulated parts relative to one another is determined by an adjusting and fixing device constructed as a gear unit. The swivel axle has an eccentric portion which is formed by two wedge segments which embrace a driver of the swivel axle, by a driver arm engaging between the narrow sides of the wedge segments, by an energy accumulator which presses apart the wide sides of the wedge segments and possibly by a centering segment arranged adjacent to the latter. The swivel axle has a central receptacle serving to connect with a transmission rod so as to be fixed with respect to rotation relative thereto. In order to achieve a reduction in structural component parts and an angular movability between the swivel axles of the articulated fittings on both sides and the transmission rod so as to compensate for alignment defects, the driver is constructed as a bushing which is connected with the driver arm integrated in the driver and with a cover disk covering the outer side of the articulated region and has a torque-transmitting receptacle for the transmission rod, this receptacle being constructed as a conical bore hole.
