The storage device is in the form of an endless belt conveyor 31 having a plurality of rectangular compartments 33 configured to receive a block of cigarettes enclosed in a folded but unglued metal foil wrapper to retain the folded flaps from opening. A movable pulley 44 can vary the length of the storage run of the conveyor in response to breakdowns of the input wrapping or output enclosing units.

摘要： A container is provided having interior longitudinal and transverse partitions arranged between objects. The longitudinal partition is formed by two superimposed flaps which are of integral one-piece construction with two bottom walls, two side walls, a top wall and end walls. At least the top wall is provided with two spaced apart transversely extending rows of perforations to define a transverse handle. Transverse cuts are formed in spaced relation to the rows of perforations and extend part way down each side wall and the area of the top wall between each row of perforations and the adjacent cut may be removed completely or folded under the handle to reinforce the handle. Additional lines of perforations are formed to permit the removal of the remaining portions of the top wall on opposite sides of the handle along with portions of the side and end walls to obtain access to the objects in the container.

摘要： A machine for packing of cigarettes in soft packets comprises a supply container for the cigarettes, means for feeding groups of cigarettes within the supply container, a first turntable being positioned adjacent the supply container, a first turntable being positioned adjacent the supply container and having stations thereon and a second turntable being positioned adjacent the first turntable and also having stations thereon. Several of the stations on the first turntable have means for the preparation of at least two blocks of cigarettes at an individual station. The second turntable cooperates with the first turntable to receive the two block arrangements of cigarettes. Further several of the second turntable stations perform the operations of making, filling and closing two packet arrangements of the two block arrangements of cigarettes at an individual station.
