    • A securement device is provided for securing articles such as collapsed shipping racks together for maintaining their stability and alignment. The device includes a tether that is connectable between adjacent shipping racks to secure the racks together, and that provides a clear visual indication that the racks are secured. A securement device affixed to a collapsible shipping rack may further comprise a bracket member and upper and lower pin members coupled to the bracket member, with the tether having first and second opposite end portions and the first end portion of the tether being coupled to one of the upper and lower pin members, and the second end portion being releasably attachable to another securement device of another collapsible shipping rack adjacently stacked relative to the first collapsible shipping rack.

    • A collapsible container is assembled from a scored sheet of material. In one arrangement, the container is configured to allow for ease of disassembly. For example, a base of the container includes a pair of opposing end walls that include an outer end wall panel coupled to the base and an inner end wall panel coupled to the outer end wall panel. The inner wall panel includes set of tabs that engage corresponding openings defined by the base and a flexion portion that allows the inner wall panel to flex relative to the base. The outer wall panel defines an opening that is substantially aligned with the score line. To disassemble the container, a user applies a load through the opening and against flexion portion. The load causes the inner wall panel to fold thereby releasing the tabs from the openings.

    • A shipping container (20) includes a floor (40) and opposite side walls (42, 44), with each side wall including a panel supporting element (68, 70) at or near an upper region of the side, wall for supporting a plurality of removable rigid cover panels (30). Each cover panel (30) has opposite side edges (60, 66) and first and second ends (56, 58). The panel supporting elements of the side walls are configured to at least partially receive the side edges of the cover panels to support the cover panels at the upper region of the side walls. The cover panels are configured to be removably supported at the panel supporting elements in adjacent relationship, whereby the first end (56) of at least one of the cover panels engages the second end (58) of another of the cover panels.

    • A hinged-corners unitary collapsible wood cleated crate for packaging heavy goods with a tubular body engaged to a base and top frame. The tubular body is formed of a pair of opposing side frames and a pair of opposing end frames, which frames each have a pair of horizontal rails connected to a pair of vertical side slats at respective overlapping aligned distal ends. Each frame includes at least one diagonal cross-member extending between and attached to the pair of horizontal rails. The side frames and the end frames join together in alternating spaced-apart sequence by a plurality of hinge plates that interconnect one of the pair of vertical slats in one of the side frames with one of the pair of vertical slats in an adjacent end frame. The hinge plates are planar sheets of a weather-resistant material, which are scored to allow the tubular body to knock-down for storage and shipping, and unfold to form a volumed body for packaging heavy goods held on a base. The body receives a top frame, and staples secure the body to the base and the top frame.

    • A preferably corrugated cardboard, shock-absorbing carton insert completely surrounds a product except for the top which is open to display the product to view. The insert is made from a corrugated cardboard blank having preformed score and cut lines which enable the blank to fold into a generally rectangular box having enlarged end panels that support the box in a position which is spaced away from all adjacent structures. There is a V-shaped fold between the box and each of its end panels to provide greater rigidity and further strength. Tab ends are positioned between the box and the end panel to help absorb a shock in any direction. The corrugated cardboard automatically assumes a desired end-product configuration responsive to four simple folding motions.

    • A machine for convolutely winding container bodies having cross sections other than cylindrical comprising a winding mandrel for receiving a lamina and winding the same thereon, together with structure for advancing the wound lamina lengthwise along the mandrel to a position for applying pressure to the wound lamina while disposed on the mandrel and consisting of a frame rotating on an axis corresponding to the axis of rotation of the mandrel. Structure is provided for rotating the frame in the same direction as the winding mandrel but at a lower speed, so that ''''fly-off'''' of the pressure applying means is prevented.
