The menu execution method includes displaying, on a touch screen, an item list which comprises a plurality of divided regions in each of which a corresponding item is formed, recognizing a user gesture at one of a first position and a second position, the second position being different from the first position, and executing a menu corresponding to the recognized position, in which a first menu for providing a first service related to the item formed in the divided region is preset in the first position of the divided region on the touch screen, and a second menu for providing a second service related to the item formed in the divided region is preset in the second position of the divided region on the touch screen, the first and second services being different.

    • A dual display device includes a display panel having a first surface and an opposing second surface, and including a plurality of first pixels displaying an image on the first surface and a plurality of second pixels displaying an image on the second surface, a gate driver supplying gate signals to the first and second pixels, a signal controller including first and second receivers receiving input image signals and generating first and second output image signals based on the input image signals, and a data driver analog-converting the first and second output image signals to generate first and second data voltages, respectively, and supplying the first and second data voltages to the first and second pixels, respectively. By using two different interfaces, memories can be reduced by driving transmissive pixels and reflective pixels independently, and different normal images can be displayed on both surfaces of the display panel. When the same image is displayed on both surfaces, only one interface is selectively driven to thereby reduce power consumption.

    • A gate driving circuit includes a first shift register and a second shift register for driving odd gate lines. The first shift register includes a first plurality of cascade-connected stages that sequentially output a plurality of first gate signals. A first stage of the first shift register receives a first vertical start signal. The second shift register includes a second plurality of cascade-connected stages to sequentially output a plurality of second gate signals. The first stage of the second shift register receives an output signal of the first stage of the first shift register as its vertical start signal. A data charging rate may be improved by ensuring the timing margin of each gate signal, so that the driving reliability of the gate driving circuit may be improved.

    • A display apparatus includes a receiving frame, a front-light module, a cover member and a display panel. The receiving frame has side walls which are formed around an open portion. The front-light module includes a light-guide plate disposed in the receiving space and a light source disposed between the light-guide plate and at least one side wall. The cover member is disposed over the side walls, to cover the light source and an upper surface of the light-guide plate. The display panel module includes a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel facing the light-guide plate and disposed under the front-light module in the receiving space, and a driving printed circuit film extending along the side wall from an edge of the LCD panel to the cover member. Thus, prism patterns of the light-guide plate may be protected and a mounting area of driving elements may be increased.

    • A driving apparatus for a display device and display device having the driving apparatus. The display device has a plurality of pixels each having a switching element. The driving apparatus includes a gate line connected to the switching element, a gate driver to apply a gate signal having first to third voltages to the gate line, a first voltage generator to generate the first and third voltages, and a second voltage generator to generate the second voltage. The first and second voltages turn on the switching element, and the third voltage turns off the switching element. The second voltage is less than the first voltage. Thus, since the gate driver includes the second voltage generator to generate the second voltage and a plurality of transistors, and generates a gate output having a step shape, a kickback voltage is reduced and flicker is prevented.
