    • An image compositing apparatus of the present invention composites a video image and a plurality of graphical images together into a final composite image. The image compositing apparatus includes a first obtaining unit, a first compositing unit, a calculating unit, a second obtaining unit, and a second compositing unit. The first obtaining unit obtains the graphical images and composition information that includes an image compositing order and is used for calculating the composition ratios of the images to the final composite image. The first compositing unit composites the graphical images together into one composite graphical image according to the composition information. The calculating unit calculates the composition ratio of the video image to the final composite image according to the composition information. The second obtaining unit obtains frames of the video image. The second compositing unit composites the frames with the composite graphical image using the composition ratio of the video image.

    • A program replacing method and apparatus replaces a program in a broadcast receiving terminal apparatus. A first program is registered so that message transmission is enabled between the first program and a POD (Point of Deployment), the first program having an identifier identifying a program type of the first program. If a second program exists in a broadcast receiving terminal apparatus, the second program is notified that message transmission between the second program and the POD is to be terminated. The method receives approval for terminating the message transmission between the second program and the POD, from the second program, terminates the message transmission between the second program and the POD, and notifies the first program that message transmission between the first program and the POD has been enabled.

    • A display processor increases graphics display performance. The display processor includes: an OSD plane having a first OSD area and a second OSD area for storing graphics images; and a Z-order manager, which stores a vertical order assigned to the first OSD area and the second OSD area, and which provides a notification regarding that vertical order. This display processor also includes a CPU, which executes a downloaded application, thereby storing the graphics images in the first OSD area and the second OSD area based on the vertical order notified by the Z-order management unit; and a display which superimposes the graphics images stored in the first OSD area and the second OSD area in accordance with the abovementioned vertical order, and displays the images.
