摘要： An electrophoretic display device having improved frontal reflectance includes a first substrate including a first electrode of a transparent material having a first optical pattern, a second substrate opposing the first substrate and including a plurality of second electrodes, a spacer interposed between the first and second substrates to define a space between the first and second substrates, and a image display layer formed in the space formed by the first and second substrates and the spacer to display an image by an electric field generated between the first and second electrodes.

摘要： An electrophoretic display device which operates in a reflective display mode and a transmissive display mode adaptive to ambient light comprises a first substrate having a first electrode, a second substrate facing the first substrate and having a second electrode, a pair of spacers interposed between the first and second substrates for defining a cell, an insulation fluid filling the cell, first colored charged particles and second colored charged particles dispersed in the insulation fluid, a backlight unit installed at an exterior side of the second substrate, and a backlight mode driving unit for attracting the first colored charged particles and the second colored charged particles to the spacers in opposite directions, respectively when the backlight unit turns on.
