    • A rapid doffing and donning vest uses a clam shell design wherein the ends of the cummerbund are removably attachable to the rear panel. A blade on the cummerbund mates with a receiver on the rear panel and has a plunger hold the two together. The plunger is attached to a pull strap located on the front panel's shoulder strap via a cord. As the pull strap is pulled outwardly, the cord pulls the plunger away from the mated blade and receiver and allows the two to decouple detaching the cummerbund from the rear panel. Outward pulling on the pull strap also facilitates decoupling of the shoulder strap from the rear panel. When the vest is doffed, the front panel and cummerbund remain attached to each other and detached from the rear panel.

    • A device that allows soldiers to find lost or captured comrades uses standard RFID technology wherein the missing soldier has an RFID tag on his person. The searcher uses a reader that uses a directional antenna in order to increase system range. The reader also has a digital compass thereon so that once the reader determines the direction to the missing soldier, the compass outputs the direction. An RFID radar on the reader determines the distance between the reader and the tag. A GPS chip on the reader gives the GPS coordinates of the reader while appropriate circuitry calculates the GPS coordinates for the tag based on the GPS coordinates for the reader, and the direction and distance to the tag. The reader and the tag communicate using spread spectrum technology in order to prevent system corruption.

    • A trap for catching mosquitoes uses a plurality of housings that are disposed along a perimeter to be protected against the mosquitoes. Each housing has a heat source, a mesh for trapping the insects, and a fan to pull the insects into the mesh. A first container holds carbon dioxide while a second container holds octenol. The carbon dioxide is pumped through the octenol holding container and the combined carbon dioxide and octenol are passed are mixed and enter a first conduit. Each housing is fluid flow connected to the first conduit and some of the combined carbon dioxide and octenol passes to each housing in order to act as attractants for the insects. A second conduit runs parallel to the first conduit and carries electricity such that when each housing attaches to the first conduit it also attaches to the second conduit in order to provide an electrical connection to the housing's fan and light.

    • A helmet that protects a user's head from the transfer of force imparted on the outer shell of the helmet. An inner layer of the helmet uses a spacer fabric that diffuses any force received over a relatively large area so that such force is spread over a relatively large area of the user's head, thereby reducing the risk of traumatic brain injury. The helmet uses a thermal pack that helps keep the user either cold or hot as desired. The helmet uses an audio pack that is removably attached to the shell, such that the audio pack protects the hearing of the user from sudden high decibel sounds and also amplifies desirable sound while squelching undesirable noise.

    • A digital control system for controlling the flow of traffic in selected directions in response to digital signals transmitted from a common transmitting control unit to multiple separate receiving traffic control units respectively associated with each controlled direction. The transmitting unit includes a transmitter and digital command code generator operative when actuated to transmit a character in the form of a digital signal specific for one of the receiving units. Each receiving unit includes traffic control indicators operative in different modes of display indications visible to traffic flowing in the direction to be controlled by that unit. Each receiving unit further includes a receiver operative to deliver demodulated characters based on codes transmitted by the transmitting unit, and the codes controlling a microprocessor programmed to process the received characters to initiate command outputs, and logic circuitry connected to receive said outputs and responsive thereto to display traffic control indications as determined by the local unit's demodulated characters, each unit keeping a model of what is being displayed by other units in the system and using it to prevent conflicting traffic control indications.

    • A flying insect trapping system uses a control assembly that has a dispersion assembly that vaporizes small amounts of octenol, the octenol mixing with carbon dioxide the flow of which is regulated into a mixing housing. The mixture is released to attract flying insects from a distance. A trapping assembly uses a heat source, namely a light for short distance attraction of the insects, which insects fly to the light and are drawn into a mesh by a fan. Each trapping assembly can have a control assembly associated with it, or a single master control assembly can be used which delivers the carbon dioxide and octenol mixture to each of the trapping assemblies.
