摘要： A coated article is disclosed that includes a metal substrate and a coating composition disposed on at least a portion of the metal substrate. The coating can be formed from a composition that includes an acrylic copolymer, which is preferably the reaction product of ethylenically unsaturated monomers and a functional monomer. The functional monomer can be the reaction product of a multifunctional isocyanate and an ethylenically unsaturated nucleophilic monomer. The functional monomer preferably includes a blocked isocyanate group. The articles can be useful for packaging foods and beverages.

摘要： The present invention is based upon a coating system that uses polycyclic polyester polymers and phenolic resins. The coating system comprises first and second coatings. The first coating preferably is derived from ingredients comprising a polycyclic polyester resin having first and second fused rings that share at least two atoms in common. The second coating preferably is derived from ingredients comprising a polycyclic polyester resin that may be different than the polyester of the first coating.

摘要： The present invention provides coating systems that use polycyclic polyester resins in combination with phenolic resins. The combination of these resin materials provides a coating composition that provides cured coatings with excellent adhesion, blush resistance, stain resistance, and corrosion resistance in a single coating composition. This makes the coating compositions well suited for use to form coatings on closures used in the packaging industry for food and beverages. In many embodiments, even though PVC and BPA materials are excluded, the coating compositions provide monocoats whose performance substantially matches and even exceeds the performance of monocoats formed from PVC and BPA containing materials.
